I saw this on reddit and hadn't seen it shared here on Vital yet. Thought I'd crosspost it for anyone interested.

I was at that race in Vegas in 99 & was surprised RC didn't get KO'd when he got hit by Greg Albertyn (If I recall ?).

I agree it was well written. But I don't think it's as healthy as he describes- he couldn't get his own team a package to finance his team to continue. It's growing but it is still quite small.

You tube video hits are so smal- my kids friends watch someone play a Minecraft game that's on you tube and it's 2,000,00 hits to 20,000 hits for a SX race.

Sad.

Compare it to 10 years ago. Millions play Minecraft...

Huh? "Before a race, you’ll usually have about three days of practice to get a feel for the track."

Very good read. This should be published far and wide. I'm going to share it on my faceplant page.

Great article. Whether Ricky wrote it by himself or had some help...very well written, and it "reads" like Ricky.

Ghost writer much?

Go take a look at any of the other written contributions penned by the GOAT and tell me with a straight face that he wrote this.

He's the GOAT of MX, not writing articles.

He wasn't home schooled, he went to public school until he turned pro.

I agree it was a good read.

But it's too elegant to have actually been written by RC.

It seems like an attempt to use his persona and credentials to explain our sport to the masses and attract new interest from everyday-non-moto sports fans.

That's fine. We need it.

You guys are such shit heads. Something comes out that's written very well and you have to put him down and say he can't write that well. Appreciate the article. You guys all woke up on the wrong side of your mother this morning.

No kidding. Good grief. Forget the excellent article - let's hash out whether or not an incredible ambassador for our sport had an editor.
