Mike was impressive today, Ben showed his old GP form. All podium places were taken by riders that have riden in GP`s before...Kudos to Mike though

Great ride Mikey.. Oh and Mikey I like the podium speech after moto two. Humble and complimentary is not usually two words used to describe you but today they were..

I think 800 could stand to have a few years in the GP`s and send Jason along also, they would return secure, humble, with a touch of class....good ride and attitude Mike, you can hold your head high

I was pretty impressed by Mike today. Everyoone knew he would be fast (I had him down to win!) but I thought he would shut himself off from everyone else and he didnt, he wasn't afraid to give props to the other guys which was nice to see.

He's gone up in my estimations.

Good ride and the interview after the second race was much better.
Hope he's back in next year!

They read this site in between motos ;-)
I´m glad to see him relax a bit more in the second interview. i´m sure he was happy to get away from the GP with a VERY impressive 2nd place and uninjured. I think this race was a much better way to prepare for next weekends race, then most other AMA riders.

Good on ya Mike, for showing up and being a good sport about it! It seemed like everyone were on good terms on the track - great to see! Mike may have done a shitty 1st moto interview, but who cares? IT´s not his fault his sponsors are corporate anals.
Thanks for racing this weekend Mike! And good luck next weekend!

Yeah was good to see that he actually answered the questions and then thanked his sponsors.... all jokes aside, i must agree that he was very humble and hope that he can stay like that for the remainder of the AMA season.

I was not impressed. MA800 is supposedly one of the top contenders for the AMA Outdoor 450 title and got spanled today. Worse is the fact it was on one of his home tracks and most the GP riders had jet lag and never seen Glen Helen.

The top GP guys are extremely fast, they prove this every year at the mxdn. We win each year because we usually have the strongest team of riders, but if it was Europe against the US then things would be about even and we would have a harder time winning.

I give Mike props for having the guts to race in a series which he is not in when everyone else sat it out. Also it is kind of cool when you think about the fact that he was 2nd O/A against the best of the US motocross series and now podiums against the best of the world motocross riders. I guess it kind of puts a stamp on the fact that he is arguably one of the 5 fastest riders on the planet in motocross.

I think Ben Townley is going to be Mikes worst nightmare this year . I can see Mike getting the holeshot then doing the Exorcist impersonation looking behind him as BT runs him down like a crippled rabbit

I was at Glen Helen today. Mike rode well, but not good enough. I was actually surprised he didn't have AC covered, especially with home track advantage. Also, he's used to the heat. Looked to me like his conditioning is not up to speed yet as he seemed to fade a little towards the end of each moto. That being said, AC rode a great race and had Mikey coevered today. Ben Townley is a different story though. That dude had everyone covered. Would've won the 1st moto had he not come together with Mikey.

800 and Townley have GH wired like their backyard track. They had their day and will have a few more bright spots but a full season is not a few good races, Winners have good days..Champions have good seasons....
