Well, depends on who rides it..... The fuel injected crf250's 2010-now are definitely a lot better though.

If you like adjusting valves then yea theyre awesome

I have watched kids on 85's super minis beat guys on 450's. It is a good bike. Just keep a eye on valves.

The 05 crf250 in my opinion was the best Honda 250f that I had ever ridden up to 2011. I rode a 2010 crf250 and hands down would have taken then 05 over the 10. I can't speak for any of the newer hondas, but just figured I'd give my opinion up to 6 years ago

I had one years ago. Fun bike. $1,500 would be a good deal for you. Once the carb is set up correct, they run super well.

If that is your budget, yes a decent deal.

But i wouldn't buy a over 10 year old 250f unless it would be some kind of a special project.

You could probably find a EFI 250 for a few hundreds more.

if you're on a budget and the bike has been maintained, ya it would be good. at this level a bike with more power wont make you faster.

These are known for frequent valve adjustments and the crank bearing failing every 50 hours. Great bike other than that lol

2008+ CRF250X

Better bike w/electric start.

I have 2 of'em.

Nobody ever told me, I found out for myself. You've got to believe in foolish miracles. It's not how you play the game, it's if you win or lose. You can choose. Don't confuse. Win or lose. It's up to you!

$1500 seems fair. Check intake valves, specifically the right side (it's the one that usually goes). Those engines seem to hold up better crank wise than the fuel injected ones. I've done way more cranks in fuel injected ones compared to the earlier carb bikes.

Once carb is set up they are great.
