What are you taller riders happy with? I want full back protection that can be worn under the jersey. I know sometimes the front can small for taller guys. Ex. Old Thor sentinel.

Alpinestar's A-4 is what i am looking at right now. Anybody own one and have thoughts? The A-1 model seems like it would be too short in the back. Open to all suggestions! Thanks!

A-4 $179

A-1 $119

im 6'3' 200lbs. The A1 in XL fits pretty well as an under jersey protector. Your arms won't be able to get to tuck into your sides but that is how 95% of the protectors are anyways. The Fox Proform works very well for me.

I'm 6'2. I'll see if we have the A-4 or A-1 in the shop tomorrow and take some photos if we do.

Down to small details the bilt looks like very similar to the fox Proframe. Possibly a rebrand of the same thing for 50 bucks less.

I'm 6'3" and also have the Troy Lee 5900 and really like it. Order both the Troy Lee and the A-stars and try on in the comfort of your own home and send the one back you like less?

The added protection from the a-1 to the a-4 is minimal, and not worth $60. I would go with the a-1.

6' I use the A-1. Back ends before it hits my pants. Very comfy and I forget it's on.

Front and back photos of A1. I have the upper back piece removed because I wear a neck brace. They also fail to highlight that they are using the patent pending NIPS technology, which is similar to MIPS but its for your nips.

Both of those a stars protectors are kinda junk. The minute you have a getoff the shoulder straps rip at the stitching and the protector is shot. Expensive for a disposable CP. The TLD one and their TLD under jersey are better.

Dudes......the new fox chest protecter is pretty badass and comfortable for tall guys (6’3” 200Lbs). It has a new gel like thing in the back that forms to your body. Check it out. I striggle with most chest protectors with my build. The troy lee one is good also. https://www.foxracing.com/store/product/TITAN-RACE-SUBFRAME/_/A-product…
