This isn’t a two stroke thread, but as a long time two stroke rider I am excited about my first ever Kawasaki, and my first brand new 450.

Awesome looking bike and hopefully as good as the mags are making it out to be. I'll hopefully be looking for one next year when I'm back riding.

Like to hear your thoughts on this 450 vs a 2-stroke (125 or 250).

Yeah it's all high viz crap for trendy millennials. I would love some basic (but not trendy) looking green gear.

Saw a racer on one in the 450 class at the Rockstar Canadian Motocross National at Deschambault, yesterday.

It seemed to work awfully damn well for a bike that appeared to be stock.

First ride yesterday, I can’t even begin to explain how good this bike feels. I’m coming off a 16 Husqvarna TC250 by the way. The motor is so smooth and free revving that it really does make the whole bike feel light and flickable. I need to put some more time playing with the suspension before I say too much, but at 165lbs, it feels pretty dang good to me. The front end felt very settled and gave me a lot of confidence coming into loose corners at speed. The electric start worked flawlessly and I’m not going to lie, I can’t imagine not having it already.

Two other things to note: the hydraulic clutch is amazing, it is not so on and off like the KTM/Husqvarna unit. It has a more gradual feel, yet stays absolutely consistent and smooth. The other thing to note, these brakes are no joke on this machine. Incredible stopping power with great feel at the lever.

I will try to keep this thread updated as the time goes on so that those looking to spend their hard earned money on the bike may have a little insight on what to expect. Please feel free to ask any questions here.

If you can make it to Albany this weekend , I'd be more than willing to swap bikes for a Moto if you want to try my 125. Saw your post in my other thread! And congrats on that new bike man!

I think these bikes are so ugly/dated. I mean honestly, from the engine to the plastics/graphics.
Im sure its a solid bike (we will find out) But I mean as far as looks go. It has looked generally similar for 10+ years.

I actually like the kx graphics and look. Tomac and Rv winning a million races helps make them look pretty good too

Too each their own I guess. I think since 2016 , the Kawi are a great looking bike. And they run even better!

Awesome, Congrats! I've had my first 450 for a bit over a year now, coming off a lifetime of two strokes.
Ive been struggling with it ( 17 yz 450 ) but I'm getting it setup better now.
I still love my 125, still love my 250 f..getting that thing sorted too..., got a new yz 250 two stroke in the garage, haven't ridden it yet...
You know what? They're all my favourite bike!
Have fun and stay safe!

No I haven't had the chance yet. I'm heading to the coast for 3 days tomorrow morning , for fishing and crabbing. But the following weekend , I'd like to try and ride some where. The good weather seems to be fading pretty quickly. What's your plan over the next couple weeks?

Congrats! I'll have to stick with my '16 for a bit longer and then I'll be in the market for a new bike.
