I’m going to Millville next week for my first national. I’ve been to supercross before but never an outdoor national. My question is how early should I arrive? I live 3 hours away so I was thinking about getting there around 8 so I can go through the pits. My other question is should I buy tickets and pit passes ahead of time or will I be fine buying them there? Thanks for any help!

I usually buy them there. I show up around 9:30 most times

Personally I'd buy the Racer X passes in advance. Yes they are $30 more than the pit passes sold at the track but they give you all day access versus 4 hours. The pits are way less crowded once they kick the morning pass people out!

How do the pits work? Do they sign autographs and stuff before and after qualifying? Or do they just strictly do it before qualifying starts

They have designated signing times during the 9-12 time slot which is when the pits are very full due to the people with the $20 morning passes. Lines for guys like Eli are super long with people waiting a very long time. With the Racer X pass you can get in before and after this rush of people and it is much easier to get autographs and such as there is a fraction of the amount of people in the paddock.

Sit on the hillside next to the finish line, and bring a small garden tool to dig divots for your lawn chair.

Another good spot is at the jumps leading into the big whoop section, particularly on the start/first lap when everyone is still bunched up after the first couple corners...

I'd get there as early as you can.
Buy the pit pass outside the Pro Pit entry, and get those early as well.
It's a madhouse in the pits, but a good time.
There are some new sections on the track you may want to check out. Be mobile for the spectating day, especially during practice so you can pick your spot during the moto's..
Have fun!!
