My daughter is 7 and her pw 50 is history along with her being too big for it anyways. She has a ttr 50 that maybe has 15 hours on it. how good is that bike? I don't currently have it in my possession it's in CA sitting at my parents place.
My girl had her first race a few weeks ago and everyone was on those sick ktm 50s and ktm 50 seniors including other girls. How will her ttr compare to those bikes as far as the power and weight ect as we will be racing all the time (she fell in love with it)

The TTR is definitely a step up in performance from a PW, and they are solid bikes. They are not in the same league as a KTM or Cobra in terms of hp, suspension or raceability (They are also in a different class in most racing bodies). But they are probably a better general purpose bike, as they are more trail-worthy and less fussy than the racebikes.
My kid went through a PW50, then to a KTM50SX, then a Cobra CX50SR. The PW was a PW. The KTM was obviously much quicker, but maintenance-intensive, not particularly well-built, and my intro into what a pain in the ass 50cc racers are.
The Cobra was an odd one to judge. The componentry and performance were amazing. It had crushing power, there were trick billet pieces all over, name brand suspension. And yet the general build, finish, plastics, design, etc were as if it were made in a barn.
I am glad to be done with all of them except the PW.
This post may be written with memories of Dad and a LEM 50 back in the day. He always smiled but it seems like that bike was in pieces more than any other we ever raced.
Had to replace some things like clutch cable, head set bearings, wheel bearings, but the basis of the bike has been solid.
As far as performance vs a pw....think plastic butter knife vs surgical scalpel. It's night and day. Maybe bigger than night and day, but some kids don't go any faster on a cobra than a pw. All depends on how aggressive the kid is, but the capability of the bikes will scare the hell out of you as a parent.
Your little girl is a beauty very nice that you share racing with her.
I love having my girls at the track.
She had the chance to ride her new bike over the summer. It obviously fits her absolutely perfect. With her turning seven next week, there's absolutely no reason why she should be on a PW 50… Now I just got to get down to Sacramento to pick it up!
Clutches and stators are common failure components on KTM 50's especially the pre '08 models. I gave $120 for this '05 Pro Junior. Had about $700 in it all total. Would not pay any big money for any used 50cc race model.
Was happy to see this one leave the stable. Ran good, but labor intensive.
Pit Row
I feel instead of bringing any kind of 125 class back to pro racing, we should have a Suszuki 85 class. IMO
