Fourteen years ago this morning a very generous family in the midst of their own tragedy blessed my family with the gift of their son's heart, and I had my transplant.

Get out there and enjoy the life you have and don't take it for granted, stop worrying about getting older and be glad you're living longer, and forcryingoutloud remember at all times that motorcycles ~ new/old/4/2/dirt/street ~ and riding them are joy and fun.

Thanks to all my friends here and about who've helped make the last 14 years of me enjoying bikes even more enjoyable!

I love you, Chewy, even when we don't agree on stuff! It seems we've known each other almost those 14 years...you must have started on MT just about the time you were recovering from surgery. Thanks for the wise words, I needed that today.

That is awesome Michael!

Everyone should be an organ donor. It costs you nothing, and you can saves someone's life. It doesn't get any better.

It'll be 6 years to the day on Sunday when I was airlifted out of Competitive Edge with some pretty massive life threatening injuries. After multiple blood transfusions, a couple days on life support, almost having a lung removed and lots of other injuries I finally made it out. So yeah, just like FTE said......celebrate your life cause you never know what's going to happen next.

Good stuff Micheal. Stories like yours are exactly why I am an organ donor and try to donate blood on a regular basis. I had the keep on truckin poster on my wall as a kid too. Cool

Great thread and point(s) well taken. Matter of fact if you have four minutes click on the Michel Petrucciani link below....the magic starts around the 3 minute mark. EDIT: The name of the song is In a Sentimental Mood

Awesome post.

I just filled out the donor info on my health card renewal 2 days ago - they can use whatever is still serviceable. Tongue

(I still haven't mounted that sweet gold rimmage you sent my way a few years ago - I gotta get celebrating I guess...)

Great post.. Not to make this thread about me but I know what FTE is saying, I had a stroke just over a month ago.. I don't have control of my left arm and hand. My left leg is getting better though.. Might not ever be "normal" again.. So everyday is a blessing..

Love to hear stories like this. My dad had a heart transplant in 1987 at the University of Washington.he is currently the longest living transplant from the U. The message you are telling has been present in my family for a while and it's a good one. Good luck bud!
