Webb said Charlotte was his last 250 race ever, so I guess he rides GH on a 450.

Would like to see Jeffrey follow Webb and move up to the 450 class for Glen Helen but I can't see him wanting to leave the 250 class on a defeat

I would like to see Coop ride the 250 one last time, put a stamp on it or accept defeat.
Or like Scott said Herlings could move up if that's what Cooper doing. Would love to see those two go head to head against eachother again

Why didn't Anderson race Charlotte and will he race the GH MXGP?

Somehow I've not heard anything especially in all of the post Charlotte talk and as Anderson raced the final national but has been out for months I thought he'd race the two US GPs to gain experience for MXdN.

They'll race again in Maggiora and both on big bikes I would guess?

Tomac's, Webb, Barcia, Wilson, Martin on a Geico 250 Honda and Webb on a 450. Anderson will not ride either because of training for MXON. I spoke to him Thursday at Glensdyland. Also 2 or 3 of the PC guys will ride and I thought maybe a couple of the TLD riders. But like life anything can change at any given moment.

I noticed Arnaud Tonus was riding a PC450 this past week. I'm not sure if that's just for MXdN or if he'll give the MXGP class a shot at Glen Helen? Considering the truck stayed back east after Indiana, it wouldn't have had a 450 on it for him to ride.

Wilson did not have a good race in Charlotte and Ironman wasn't much better.

I hope GH has a good turnout. The track is badass plus some gp riders have raced it before. Too bad Roczen can't show up.

That's exactly what happened last night. Epic charge through the pack to seal the deal, in front of his home town crowd none the less. Doesn't get much better than that. Total mic drop. Coop said himself last night after the race "I'm a 450 rider now"

I feel honored to have witnessed what I saw last night

It doesn't make any sense why Anderson wouldn't race these in order to get ready for MXDN. Nothing can substitute racing. Unless the team doesn't want to or can't go. I thought Zach was supposed to be racing these too?

True, but because of the European Environmental rules (Not FIM Rules) you can't use the same fuel in Italy. So maybe they wanna try some settings from their European sister-teams. Oh and GH isn't really the type of track that you can use to test your softer suspension settings on... But personally I think it sucks big time that we won't see Cooper Webb (I love that guy) and also Jason Anderson. After GH you have 14days to test Euro-settings.

PS: Lead-Fuel isn't used in Europe (because of environmental rules), but last night almost everyone was using it I heard. So is changing settings now easier than back in the days when you had carburetors?

Husky does not want Anderson racing. We are not expecting more than 8,000 to attend. It's a shame with all you get for 2 days. Open pits, up close of the 2017 Honda 450, racing on Saturday and Sunday and a great weekend with friends and family. If I was not working it I would be going to it. A chance to see just how God the Euro's are against the US riders. Hope to see you there.

Don't think it was really logistically plausible for Herlings to race the 450 at GH. Because it would've meant they had to ship 250's and 450's for him, and if something has gone wrong at Charlotte and he hadn't won the championship the 450's would be shipped for nothing

We don't run leaded fuel here, either.

My predictions:

250 class will probably have Forkner/Jeremy Martin/Justin Hill as AMA contenders. Not sure if Harrison will race both USGPs depending on Star, but he did good in Charlotte. AC is most likely out, Savatgy out. Maybe Chris Alldredge gets one more ride at Pro Circuit. Maybe Oldenburg for TLD.

450 class will probably just have Tomac and Wilson as AMA contenders. Don't see JGR sending their truck west unless Monster is footing the bill for Barcia and Nicolletti.

Surprised Musquin and Anderson aren't racing GH this year. KTM/Husky were major backers last year.

Michael, Remember when we walked around and shot photos at the 2011 USGP and there were practically no AMA riders there at all. Musquin raced, but was the defending MX2 champ that just moved to the states. I think Zach Osborne was the only American even in contention.

I'm a fan of the GP guys so I didn't mind watching Roczen/Herlings and Cairolli/Desalle battle.

And the end of leaded fuel (2006) was the demise of the 2 stroke in pro racing.

I remember Webb saying he wouldn't be at GH during the MXDN press conference. So we can scratch him off the list. Unfortunately, the only big AMA name that I think will be there on a 450 is Tomac. I'm not sure if Barcia will be there. I'm really hoping Forkner can perform like he did this week and give Herlings a run. I would love to see forkner beat him at GH.

I don't think Musquin has any real reason to race with him not being on the MXdN team. I thought Anderson was racing GH though?

Same environmental issues you guys have. I don't think we've had leaded race fuel in Supercross or motocross in over ten years now. Plus, leaded fuel is really only an advantage for two-strokes.

Yup! I did enjoy the 2010 and 2011 USGPs... It was almost like a private viewing experience with the low turnout... Blink

Will you be heading out there next weekend, Kirk?

I'll be there. Hoping for a good turnout for the GH crew. It'll probably be freaking hot.

I haven't missed a GP/National/SX in SoCal since I was a baby. Lol
