I'm seeing on my Instagram, people are sending get well message to Gianluca Facchetti. Anyone have any news on this?
Gianluca is an up & coming Italian who currently rides in the EMX125 series. He is quite well known for his start line antics, punching the air, crossing his chest, revving the hell out of his bike.

Get well soon boy
Haven't seen any further update on his condition. Just hope he's going to be okay. The sheer amount of riders wishing him well shows what a good kid he is
The 15 year old Gianluca Facchetti from Italy got seriously injured at Lukoil gasstation in Lommel yesterday by a reversing car. The boy tried to stop the car but got stuck between the car and the wall of the building.
Facchetti got several injuries among bowels and crushed pelvis. Doctors couldn't operate on him due to a major loss of blood.
Sounds horrible. Wishing for a full recovery.

My translation may not be fully correct since I had to translate Italian and Dutch to English and none of them are my first language. His parents have also made the trip from northern Italy to Belgium to be with their son. My thoughts are with them.
Get well soon Gianluca!
Fachetti got hit by an uncontrolled van where the person forgot (presumably) to put on the handbrake. It happened at a gas station and Fachetti saw it happening. Therefore he tried to stop the van but it all went wrong. He got under the van and got hit pretty bad. He was pretty close to death and now he is artificial coma but there is a chance he will heal completely.
He broke his pelvis and some internal bleedings located at his stomach. There were also some blood clots in his leg. A piece of intestine was taken away and attached. After two weeks, they are going to take a scan again and see how his pelvis will heal. At this moment they attached an iron rack for support.
His parents drove over from Italy to Lommel (15 hour drive). He is still in coma so far but his team and parents try to stay positive. He will definitely has to stay in his bed for 6 weeks. If everything goes to plan, he will stay in Belgium instead of going back to Italy.
