Hey everyone I’m new here, I’m trading for a crf250r and it looks to be in great condition. The owner said it has sat for a while because he fell and broke his collarbone so it bogs in high rpms. Other than that the bike is in good condition and he has replaced some old parts with new parts like the fork seals and fluid. I’ve ridden a lot but never owned my own bike so this will be my first one and the nicest bike I’ll be able to afford for a while.

If you all could give me some thoughts on the bike and any tips that’d be greatly appreciated!

Good to know, I’ve heard that from a couple different people. If this falls through what would you suggest me to get for my first bike in the 250cc market and for around 2k?

2010 had serious fuel pump issues. Replace with the 2011 fuel pump, pick up and in tank filter and the bike is fine. The bog issues are from the in tank filter and pick up

Dont listen to that guy, my dads owned his 2010 crf250 from new, it was raced by my brother for 4 years at expert level before he ugraded to a 450 and my dad still races it now.
Never had one issue with it in 10years apart from a few clutches when my bro was racing it but he has that issue on everybike.
Just keep on top of maintenance like regular oil and filter changes and youll be golden.

i have a 2013 CRF250 and it has been problem free. The motor is not very strong but can be updated or a 270 kit can be added. Or...you can leave it and the motor should be reliable with proper maintenance. I would want to know what is causing that bog though.....

The '10 crf250 is a solid bike. Not fast by any means but it's reliable.

Agreed, never had an issue with mine when racing it back then. Had the spark plug cover (big yellow thing) come loose a couple of times, replaced spark plug and cover and never had any more issues with it. Rebuilt it with a 270 to be competitive with other bikes at the time..
