I was wondering about it. Some nice offroad/mx bikes at the auction.

Newman valued it at $12,000 to $15,000, and well below his thoughts on the value of a 77 RC500 (that he's got 1 or 2 of ?).

Maybe he was being canny, and trying to hold the price down ? Woohoo

Good to see a Bike (well, one of the bikes) / Rider combo that has such history with the USGP, when it was important to Americans, be valued so much, by someone.

I wonder where it's headed to?

Yeah, I only missed that one by 55 grand plus commissions. I based that off the fact that I have seen similar works bikes offered up in the $17,500.00 range and end up not selling. It was an open classer though. Early Works Honda's rarely come up for sale and when they do they go for huge money, especially open class bikes. Heck, maybe this SR and RC 500 just quadrupled in value...Smile

I have an idea who might have bought it, I have to double check with his son on Tuesday to make sure.

I was taking with a friend & told me his dad put in a phone bid on it!

I had a picture of that bike stapled up in my bedroom during high school. Amazing that it is still in one piece. Nice seat. And look at the pegs.
