Black plastics can look descent if done right. But most look like late 90's freestyle bros.
JKs opened the doors for Jeep guys to actually bring their family wheeling. I don't know why you classify it as a minivan. From a running gear perspective, they haven't changed in 20 years. Still solid axles, still coil sprung, removable doors, etc. If anything, they have made them notably beefier in critical areas. I have been wheeling since the early 90s, I will never understand why folks ridicule wheeling in comfort.. Once I had kids I had to sell my last Jeep because they are too damn small to realistically wheel with passengers. The 4 door kicked the door back open and we use the piss out of our Jeep, as a family, in comfort.

My Jeep isn't very average, very well and functionally built on 40s, and still drivable even for my wife, because it is a JK.

don't have a problem with black but sometimes it's overdone. It reminds me of mulisha type crowd when it's all black

Also bring back the jeep truck

This! A black bike can actually look good if done right. I'm actually thinking about blacking out my 250xc this winter because there is a sea of orange at off-road races. I think black gets a bad rep because more of the bro types do it and don't maintain them and they end up looking like crap.

Black plastic is the motorcycle form of vaping.

The only black bike I've ever found appealing is Bereman's that is in this thread. That RMZ in the OP sure does look nice as well.

They seem to be popular around here- I saw like three in one day (either blacked out dual sport or dirt bike in truck). They tend to be older bikes that looks like someone took a spray can to it. It tends to look like crap, but I suppose it could be done in a cool way.

This LOOKS GREAT! But it is not your basic Craigslist roach bike like I referred to at the beginning.

I also imagine it is like glossy black paint on a car/truck, in that one speck of dust/dirt and it looks bad.

I rescued this poor KX250 last month. Not only did he black it out, painted the frame school bus yellow, & put some bitchin skulls on it. He also painted the seat. Yep, you read that correctly. He PAINTED the seat. Lol

But now she is in good hands, and currently on the way back to how she's supposed to look.

I am fairly certain the XJ let you wheel with your family long before the JK. The jeep name died when the 4.0 ceased, end of story.

Everything is going black theses days, simply go to google images and type in Jeep Wrangler. You will see you can even buy them off the lot blacked out. These days your colors are black, white, or some God awful color like teal or lime green. Kids these days suck and unfortunately I'm grouped with them.

Black plastics can look descent if done right. But most look like late 90's freestyle bros.
I'm a toyota man myself, FJ, landcruisers, pickups/hilux, and four runners over a jeep any day. However I will say some of their new stuff is weak.
At least bro culture has stayed away from the older toyotas so far. But every bro has or wants a jeep. It takes away from the guys who actually use their off road.

Up here in Canada things are so cold that I needed more black to attract the sun and warm up...
