All black plastics

The Shop
The well done all black bikes ( examples cited by: jbecker72, lynch, slothy, jprice07, sean-bassett) look good. At least in the pits. YZ302, good find. It probably is Kawi's fault. I did not like the black fendered Kawasaki's in '76 either. The '74 and '75 had white fenders and looked better. In my opinion.
At one time I worked for a shop that was owned by car racing guy. (old school Kansas dirt track stuff, not big time NASCAR, INDY, Trophy truck type stuff) I remember him talking about superstitions and color in the 4-wheeled racing world. And that black was considered bad luck. No one would paint their cars black because of it.
Not that anyone cares, but I think on a dirt bike fenders should be white or match the color of the tank. I prefer silver rims, but black rims (rimmage if you are Mr Rupert X) look good. The lines of the bike should be clean and simple. Go look at the 2004 YZ250, Chad Reed thread for an example. Less is more.
Black plastics are slimming.
If you keep white plastic clean it doesn't show the scuff marks as much. Same thing if you go down the white crease marks aren't as obvious.
I say to each their own.
The great thing about it all is that if you don't like it don't buy it and if you do then buy it. Simple as that really.
I don’t mind black as an accent color but black plastics I’ve never liked. I like color on my bikes. Black wheels are ok.
Pit Row
Other than that I like it.
The "all blacked out" look is very '90s, as stated by my younger bro from Mormonville.
