Too much time on my hands I guess.....
With Shorty's retirement, he had been with Fly for what....since 2004 or so?
12 years with the same gear company..
How many other riders have stayed loyal for that long?
RC as with FOX almost his entire career (except for his stint with PC..which was AXO at the time)
Villo was with THOR his whole career...but I dont believe with was as lengthy as Short.
Everyone else seems to follow the money to the highest bidder, or get stuck under the "Team Gear Look" whether they want to or not..
I know there are Vitards with better memory than me (a few too many falls on the head)....whatcha got?

EMIG has been in SHIFT for 20 ish years?
The Shop
For me being a bigger guy, comfort came first, avaiability, then style, price
was never an issue.
Over the years i have used most brands way back to leathers.
FMH from europe was the last i purchased, reasonable fit and quality.
Heck, ya might even see him in places like Baja.
All the while, I think he might be involved in further development of Fly Gear, too.
One guess as to which gear company is NOT loyal to it's customers
Pit Row
My Fly F16 gloves have held up amazingly well, but my Fly hydrogen lite gear didn't last well at all.. Their new stuff, I don't like the look of and won't be buying.
Most of the Thor gear I've had has been bullet proof.
I don't pay much attention to which rider is wearing what these days.
I've personally been wearing it from day one. Even through the really ugly design years.
And the FMF thing for a year. Pretty good tho.
The Coles notes: After about 15 years of selling Fox they dropped us. We had a couple of soft years and they deemed us no longer worthy of their business. I was practically begging them to keep us on. Was told it costs them too much money to maintain (the one catalog and one rep visit a year must have set them back huge) When asked what can I do for customers coming in wanting Fox gear I was told from my rep..wait for it.....'there are other brands out there you can sell them' Fox is so flipping huge they can be that arrogant I suppose.
Could you imagine your local dealer or favorite online shopping place sending you a letter stating they no longer want your business and to stop buying from them? Think about that for a minute.
What makes me sick to my stomach every time I think about it is the years I was personally loyal to the Fox brand (about 20 years) All the gear, clothing and other items I bought for myself, family and friends.
