So...with all the talk (and probably truth) about GasGas simply being a KTM with red plastic, are there any real differences between the two bikes? I ask because, from what I've been told, the KTM and Husqvarna are different enough that a lot of parts/pieces are not interchangeable.

Different bar clamps, as well. Basically trying to build a bike that costs less than KTM..but its only gonna be around a $900 difference.

I think the red 250s and orange 250s will be very similar to each other by the time they hit the track.

Thats quite a bit really, hell thats a years tire budget, a good stock of spare parts, a few bolt ons to customize etc. etc.
The market is begging for bikes that don't cost $10k-$12k. I'm all for manufacturers making moves to lessen the costs of new bikes. We don't all need something ready to go race a SX.

As you've pointed out: that's a years worth of tires and stuff.
The bike that I think is THE deal at GasGas is the 125. It's retail price is $200 more than the YZ ($6799 v $6599).
I ripped a start from Egypt and I was happy about that.

I noticed the $200 dif a few days ago and was like dammmmnnn, thats an easy decision for a Yamaha diehard like myself even. But, money talks (no more demo bikes for me) i was tempted to go yellow with the price of the rmz450s and now can get killer deals on kx250s..my blue-crew days are limited thats forsure.

Triple clamps didn’t get the extra machining step on the outside. They look a little more Japanese in finish than the ktm. Function should be equivalent. Tires are different on some of the Mx models. Brakes and clutch are Brembo on Mx and xc I think same as ktm. Subframe is aluminum like ktm.

I definitely didn’t say it was a bad thing.
It’d be nice if it was greater than $1000 cheaper. I think it’s a good thing too.

That could be just to get people to buy, get gas gas some market share. Prices go up in a few years once they’re hot on the consumer.

The traction control/map switch is a gimmick anyway...buy the gas gas and get a vortex with the change if you want real maps....win 👍👍

Hopefully they don't change the clutch like Husqvarna did.
I know the offroad model had issues and had a recall on it.

Thankful they didn't equip the big bikes with the problematic magura clutch unit.
Unleaded tastes a little tangy. Supreme is kinda sour, and diesel tastes pretty good.

It appears to be quite easy and cost effective to make an EC125 out of an MC125...especially for those of us that don’t feel the need for e-start on a 125.
