Sorry if this is in the wrong place, however,

Sold my 350 and I’ve been looking for a 250, an amazing ex-British championship team bike came up that I couldn’t say no to as it has some cool stuff on it for the price and I live 5mins from the guy selling it.
Trouble is it’s a Gas Gas and looks wise it’s way down on my list of good looking bikes. I’ve been searching for graphics/bike design ideas but not seen anything I like. Can you post photos of your Gas Gas or ones you think look particularly good to give me some ideas to make this bike look as good as it’ll go?

Don’t buy it! Anything used in the British championship will be f*cked!

Fast riders with low budget teams makes for under funded motor maintenance.

Find something used by a vet novice and buy that.

I didn't used to think like you. But after buying a Pro's bike here in the States and the trouble I had with it, I completely agree with what you're saying. Don't get blinded by the fancy bits. I'll never buy a pro's bike again.

Thanks for your comments. The engine is stock and only has 8-10hrs on it. The trick bits include dual injectors, vortex ignition to suit, akrapovic exhaust and some work to the shock. Surely engine will be good considering the above? It’s from the top gas gas team in the U.K so I’d say it’s been maintained well.

With only 8 hours on the engine it shouldn’t be clapped out and should be pretty safe there. Dual injector set up - should rip!

8 hours from a British championship rider and it’s a 250f? Yup she’s clapped. Split the cases and inspect.

A lot of times teams/pros refresh the bike before selling. If it was gone over, then I don't see any issues. If not, it still isn't the end of the world. Just keep up on it and it should be fine. Don't drag out the maintenance intervals or give it a good once-over before riding. I'm sure it rips, based on some of the extras that it is. So that is a bonus.

As far as looks, I feel like most people find the Gasgas to be the best-looking of the 3 euro brands (at least I do.) Looks are subjective. I think Barcia's bike looks amazing. You could go that route or just look at some of the different graphic brands and see what suits you.

You'll be fine or should be fine. I've seen plenty of ex pro bikes run great for as long as people have them. This is like when someone says don't get a vertex piston I've seen them blow up. Their shit. Well I've seen all brands blow up at 1-5 hr including one. Shit sometimes just happens.

I’m taking the comments on board, I’ll be checking everything like crazy and hopefully she does me good. I’m shit hot when it comes to maintenance anyway, I like tinkering as much as riding.
Would still like to see some sexy GasGas if anyone has photos?

A buddy Kollin takes a ton of pride and time into his bikes and goes pretty fast on them too. A clean looks goes a long way.

I believe he has this 125, a 250f and 450 for sale due to injury now or soon. (He’s coming back with fresh bikes)

Very nice, love a clean design also. Making bikes look good is as fun as riding them for me

Incase anyone gives a fuck, here she is. Took her out last weekend and absolutely love it. Suspension is on point and the power is perfect, could ride it a lot harder for longer than the 350.
When you look close you can tell the chassis has some hours on it and you can tell it’s been a tool not a toy but I’ll strip her down over winter and make everything look pretty again.

I was gonna say it’s be the frame and chassis if he more concerned with then the engine. Steel frames stretch a lot more then aluminum.

But sounds like your stoked so have fun and enjoy!

Providing Clarkey's mechanic from this year sold you that bike, or at least prepped it for sale, that'll be a great bike to own.
