I just put down some G Floor mats in 22' x 8'6" sections. Now when I drop something, it doesn't seat bounce across the floor into never never land.

Made my frame out of 1inch square tubing and 2in angle. The top is 3/4inch sanded plywood that I sealed and then topped with 16g 304 Stainless. I think I was a total of $220 range for materials.
