But I kind of agree with others about Gasjer though. He needs to ride a real SX track and test SX suspension before trying MEC. He can be so smooth and I fully believe with the proper time and testing, he can definitely be top 5! You know as well and everyone else, SX is a completely different animal. You can't just decide to jump in and race it with outdoor suspension. It takes time to get it down.
Edit: Kenny wadded up in race 2 but won races 1 and 3 - 2016
Romain Febvre trained together with some other SX specialists before the rode the SX in Lille, he did great. But then the year after he didn't had enough time to prepare and he crashed and was really lost in Supercross... And to be honest I never thought that Febvre could be a good SX-rider but he really surprised me back in 2016.
Oh besides all previous he needs some race craft. Between the MXON and MEC he got 3 weeks to get dailed in. That's short and he will race riders who have years and years of SX experience under their belt and who are also more prepared for that race. So instead of jumping into the MEC, I would've chosen to race more SX races but maybe some "easier" ones like Zuidbroek, Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Geneva, Lyon, Amnévielle, ... And getting podiums and wins in those races could boost his confidence for the MEC in 2020. But yeah I'm probably just a fool.
Matthes tweets are unnecessary, give the guy a chance. Hats off to him for wanting to give it a 2nd go!
