Buckles stay closed on my SG10s. I refuse to spend over $300 on a pair of boots.

I'm with you. 500 Bones is a lot for something I go through annually. Fox boots look really good, gotta say the Rocky Mountain Boots get rave reviews from fellow trail riders, though they look like Stormtrooper boots.

I hate modern heavy boots. I can afford $500 boots but I wear Gaerne Cyphers that I bought for $99 instead. All the Italian made Gaerne quality without feeling like I'm wearing ankle weights. I actually stocked up and bought three sets but they wear so well that two sets have been in my attic for two years.

I had my SG12's for a couple months after having the SG10's for 2 years. The SG12 are a lot better. Better adjustments on the buckles and they feel way more comfortable. Also the soles are holding up great. I got a discount on them through sponsorhouse and they are well worth the money.

Oh and I have never had a problem with the buckles coming undone on either model

I tried them but not get comfortable with them. I wear an 11.5 with Sidi's and was in between sizes on the Gaerne. I couldn't feel the brake lever or shift lever, but they did feel sturdy and are well built. It probably takes some time to get used to because I know a lot of people like them, but I prefer my Sidi boots. They are solid, last long, and allow you to feel the shift lever.

I've got a pair and love them.
Had 3 previous pair of SG10's and thought they were good, but nothing near the 12's.
The only people talking down about the 12's, are people that haven't had them.
This is one of those cases where you get what you pay for.

I've got the SG 12's and I did alot of research before I bought them and it was a pretty easy decision after reading what folks have to say about them. I actually got mine for like $420 shipped from Extreme Supply. I just called and talked to a guy and he gave me a good deal. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.

I LOVE the AXO Primes I bought this year more than all the A-Stars I've worn since 1994.
They were designed by Kenny Safford who also designs A-Stars.

I went from Tech 8s to SG10s and missed my Alpinestars for two years.

Then I went from SG10s to SG12s and I wish I had more excuses to wear them. The SG12 is an amazing boot. I don't think they're heavy at all. I'm fortunate in that I got them for free though... Even though they're my favorite piece of equipment I've ever owned I don't think I could bring myself to fork over the dough.

I'm on my second set of SG10s, the old pair is still in good condition, they just look stained cuz i was too lazy to clean them so that is my fault, the point is the boots are great and last long, i don't think i'll wear anything else. I highly recommend them, they are the most comfortable boots i have ever had, even better than my tech 8s i wore previously.

Best boots money can buy. My son races with them and likes them better than the tech10's

This thread makes me even more sad that I'm not rich.

My Berricks are just about done, and I'm looking for a good, yet inexpensive replacement. Something tells me the SG-12's maybe aren't my best choice?
