One of the old vintage racing friends passed away, Chris Serres from the Nederland/Port Neches, Texas area. Anyone who raced the old Pleasure Island track or Houston area tracks in the 70's probably knew him. As you can see he was an old school Elsinore rider.
After many years off the bike when life got in the way, he ended up back out there on his original CR125 and picked up where he left off. Pretty damn fast and never gave up. One day he couldn't get off the bike when he got back to the pits. Ended up that he had broken his leg yet finished the moto. Moto two rolls around and there he is on the line with damn near a full roll of duct tape torqued down around his boot! Here's another back in the day "style check" with the classic Hondaline colors.
Fast enough to make it to the GNC amateur days in the Astrodome where he finished 8th overall in the hotly contested 125 intermediate class.
And then there was this pic of me getting roosted off the start. Feet up, on the pegs and to the front on his 78 CR250.

Give us some info.
The Shop
When another one of his older friends was near death in the hospital in need of a kidney transplant, he was the first to step up and offer. You can't buy that kind of friendship.
We had some really good battles out on the track and laughs in the pits. Good friends, good times.
Sounds like a fun dude to ride/race with.
Just know he had as much fun riding and racing with you.
May Chris Rest in Peace.....
Condolences to friends and family.
So sorry to hear about Chris!
I remember racing EVO with Chris.
He will be missed by us all.
My condolences.
