Why not?

Looks like it needs heavier springs and slow the rebound down. Then hit the triple step-up. Fifth gear pinned.

Definitely needs heavier springs. Serious pogo action going on.

Looks not fun to ride at all with the suspension.

Why would a full grown guy want to ride a small bike like that?

Have you ridden something like a Grom or a pitbike? It's just super fun to throw one of those little things around. An 80 is prob 140 lbs.

Looks more like that shock needs a rebuild.

It's no Mustang. Some would probably find the power "disappointing".

It would be pretty cool to see one of the young up coming amateurs ride that thing.

Deegan needs to build one for his kid.

I wanna see a kid hop on it!

Though the small wheels and short wheel base with that big of a motor is definitely crazy!

Man, it'd be tough for a kid to keep enough weight over the front.

Man, that looks like fun! I would love that bike, being 5-7" It would suit me just fine.

I was looking at those CRF150RB with 250f powerplants.

I have ridden pitbikes and never really saw the attraction. I am 6'2" 225lbs and old. I can still throw my CR250 around pretty good though. lol

Spends thousands converting a 150F into a 250 2T with 3X the power...... never gets it past 1/4 throttle.

Yeah, sounds about right. Laughing

Theres also another one on Youtube of a guy that did that to a big wheel CR. No video of him riding it though. I think it's awesome. Would be fun as hell in some woods trails. Might have to stop and stretch your knees a bit though. Still awesome.

Awesome fab work squeezing the motor in.
I'd like take a big bore trials motor and put it into a RM or YZ 125 chassis, that would be one hell of a woods bike.
You'd sell those all day long to the older trail crowd.

Slightly OT, but your thread title perfectly describes the question I ask myself everytime I throw my leg over a dirtbike.

"Is this fun or am I insane?"

Back to the hybrid bike. It's not that odd. Before the suspension revolution in the 70's most bikes had less suspension, not much different seat heights and less HP. The main change is the wheel size. I've ridden a friends CR80 around a motocross track and had fun. A lot of fun. Same with 125s, 500s, foo foo bikes, serious "real" dirt bikes. They are all fun to ride.

When my son was on 80's I would jump on his bike and spin some laps. So much fun lol just couldn't hit the big jumps or take any insides without ripping my legs off Laughing
