Jason Hooper announced that he's calling it a day with the FGSE series and that 2020 was it's last season.

Personally, sad to see it go as it was one of the most exciting off-road events to watch and film. Aside from that, I curious to see how it effects ISDE for team USA. Since the series started there's been a significant improvement for Team USA in the ISDE as it gave them a similar style of racing to practice on.

Didn't they have rather impressive turnouts?

Maybe the facilities started wanting a bigger cut?

Dry that sucks sprint enduro is a unique way of racing and has had a ton of big name riders doin it. my guess is sponsors are pulling out that it takes to run a big series.

From the sounds of it, it's more of a lack of personal interest to do another season due to the headaches of running a series which Im sure sponsor dollars, facilities, riders, etc etc play a part

I'm sure someone on the East will pick up where they left off. Seemed like such a great series. They raced on a damn golf course!!

Hopefully! Was an event on my bucket list I still haven't gotten to cross off.

Ohhh man, that’s crappy news. Loved this series. Hopefully somebody else pics it up,

The Hidden Valley golf course here in WV was probably their biggest turnout, and super fun. You can still ride the tracks there in the warmer months. They have a mx track and the off-road tracks. They have races occasionally too,

It was looking like the next Big Thing for a while, then kinda slowed down. It seems that many like the format since single track can be really crowded with riders, and by separating and timing them that problem is resolved.

Never went to one, but I imagine there is some benefit to running early before the course gets beat up. It seemed to have good turnouts, but I'm not sure if they ever ran amateurs? Hard to make a living off of just the Pro classes.

Dang. That sucks, I too thought this could be the next big thing if it kept the right momentum.

It sure seems to be a format that is popping up all over the country at both sanctioned and non-sanctioned events.

Maybe/hopefully someone will try to pick up where Hoop left off?

Dang, the last round this year was my first one and I had a blast. Really fun format of racing.

That was the worst name for a series ever. NEVER use the word Enduro again.

Sad to see this series go but times have changed for many reasons especially this year.

I still prefer the 24 MPH enduros that challenged you 160-250 miles a day 3-5 decades ago. Nobody raced to make money in that era. Just heart and pride.

That series may have folded but the format lives on in the Legendary Alligator Enduro which is going back to it's traditional Daytona Bike Week Thursday home this year.

Yea, it’s was mainly amateurs. Pretty much same classes as GNCC, but not as many pros.

Pray tell, good sir, was it not a fitting moniker?

I’m with ktmfun. Those all day timekeepers had a special way of making you suffer. The 24mph sections at the end of the long course, the ones you’d struggle to maintain 10mph......that was the good stuff.

I hated to see this today. A few years ago I borrowed a friends bike to race one of these and its what made me fall back in love with riding so I bought a bike last year and started riding again after 35 years . I raced a few this year and they were an absolute blast and I actually won the one at the golf course. Im really going to miss them because they were alot of fun.

Huge bummer to see it go, those were by far the most fun events I've participated in. I was able to make it to three events in two seasons and they all had people waiting on standby in case of no-shows. They capped the number of entrants but I think that was for sure by design, and in my opinion made it better for us racing. Cool vibe, professionally operated, and was never a cluster like the huge events. Plus... it's hard to beat a golf course grass track. Congrats and best of luck to those guys.

I met the guy who owns/ran the series briefly over a year ago and got the impression that he was pretty burned out , even at that point. I would guess that is a key factor here
