Hmm... What I just read states "XC-W" models. That's the non linked bikes that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. What about the XC "linked" bikes?

Interestingly the filed for a patent on this design in 2001... https://www.google.com/patents/US6691649 The transfer port injection is still a pretty fresh topic; very little actual research...

The transfer port injection is still a pretty fresh topic; very little actual research except for a few papers published in 2014 from a group of engineers in India.
Polaris has had that for many many years.

if Polaris has it for years then they would be breaching the patent?? unless the patent has expired?

That is a very specific design patent. It's related specifically to the fuel injectors location on that drawing. It's not a "global" patent on FI on a 2 stroke engine. It actually shows a std intake track with a fuel injectors located in the ports.

If you look at the KTM drawing of their FI engine it looks like a FI throttle body has replaced the carb. So it wouldn't have any infringement on that patented in the link it appears.

Anyways should be interesting to see how it performs once it hits the show room floor!
