I do not switch them. I've never had a problem with grabbing the wrong brake.

I began switching my front brake levers on my bicycles when I was 13, by then a motorcycle was more common to ride than a bike.

Here in the UK bicycles are R-Front, L-Rear.

I knew that other countries use the opposite but I’d never thought about the connection with motorcycles. That’s just weird… riding MX with opposite side brake to your MTB?? I couldn’t get my head around that.

I wouldn't for the simple fact that if you ever swap bikes with a friend for part of a ride, or rent a bike while on vacation... it's going to be a total cluster f*** of an experience to try and adjust.

Like others have mentioned, your brain knows the difference between a mtb and a dirtbike, and I've never accidentally grabbed the rear brake thinking it was the front.
