Friese on a new team. A step down or lateral move?

I've been convinced and waiting for Friese's own approach to racing to eventually take him out of the sport. I figured it would come in the form of getting rides on lesser prominent and less funded teams and eventually end in no ride for him.

Sort of just deserts for the way he races.

So is his move to Slaton racing a step towards not being on the gate anymore or a lateral move?

He is nothing like J-Law. I'm no J-Law supporter by any means but that guy had heart, something Friese will never have. I still remember reading Friese' side of the whole 2-stroke World Championship fight with Michael Leib and then seeing the pics where he desperately tries to take out Leib on the fucking start straight. How pathetic can you be.

I am honestly hoping for the day this guy gets a lifeling pro racing ban.

so you didnt think jlaw should have gotten banned for all the crap he started with RV? or the ear biting thing? or when he flipped his car at the track? or when he got in a fight the night before red bud (or millville, whatever) and was thrown in the pokey? all that meant he had heart because he was fast on a bike?

Oh great, another Friese hate thread. I hope he kills it this year.

I personally like him, mostly because the guys on this site hate him.

Friese's agent has been offering $150,000 and there were no takers till now. An icon like Marty Smith ought to know better IMHO.

Don't forget about beating one of your friends with a socket inside a sock.....I think that is what put him away for a year.

On the Freise thing.....I don't want to see any professional racer get banned. Not even him......even though I completely disagree with his approach to racing.....AND.....since I really dig Lieb and Pieck. He was always inside the top 15-20 in SX and nationals....so you can't deny the guy has speed.....but now days.....that barley gets you any help. I think for his results.....he didn't deserve to be on MC.....so I think they made the right move.

Besides.....the bad press MC had to of gotten from Friese being on the team ( from here anyways ).....probably had to get to Genova a little bit.

It's definitely a step down.

For the new team, that is.

I didnt say anything about off track antics. I could care less if he slays newborns for breakfast. I based my post purely on what he does as a racer.

Plus JLaw and RV was a 1 to 1 problem. With Vinny it's a 1 to everyone else problem.

Actually, I was more refering to when he cut his own practice short to help a fallen rider get to the pits quicker? Or the numerous times he went to charity events without making a fuss about it? Or maybe because he paid for Sean Hamblin's plane tickets for an entire season so he could get to the races? Or maybe because he was the only one who wanted to hire Grant Langston after he was down and out?

I don't like J-Law by any means, but don't put him anywhere near the same category as a scumbag like Friese.

Well, we could wait to see his results to decide if it's a up, down, or lateral move.

You really think anyone is paying Friese $150k to embarass their team? I don't doubt for one second that he is in a position where he has to buy a ride, some were saying he did the same thing to get his MCR ride last year.

I cant believe either scenario to be honest.

So am I to surmise that Vince Friese' parents are still footing the bill for him to be able to get on a team and be taken care of?

Love him or hate him (which most do) he is bringing some drama for all us clowns to get worked up over.

Just think of all the guys that want to take him out and then watch him, it's entertaining. Maybe it's good to have a villain in the sport, kinda like Tyler Evans.

What I cant believe is that some people are so inocent that can't see some of the lappers are rich kids with dad paying the bills. Thats the same in every motorsport. You could be in the F1 on a Motorhispania for example, if you had a good enough dad.

He's gonna mess with the wrong person, only a matter of time.

He might catch in on the track in the form of a dirt sample.....Or you never know someone might have a run in with him off the track and put him in his place.

It does baffle me how some ppl are the devil for pulling questionable things while others just get swept under the rug like it never happened

On the "moto" and other places it's been reported to cost approximately $100k/year for am races, so $150k sounds like a good deal compared to that....

I'm jumping in on the J-law conflict. Yes he has done some wrong moves, but you know what,Myself and my 15yr old son was at Dade City this summer, and we kept saying who is that dude. My son says it look like J-Law with a shaved head. I went up to him and his grandad I think. He was very out going to us and way cool to my son. After every session talking to my boy about what he like about track and telling him to try this line. I'll tell you this with the exception of the Great Freddie Spencer, no pro racer ex or not has given my son that kind of attention. Not to mention he was FLYING until his bike broke. No one is perfect except RC well not even him.
