French SX Tour Leader to West Coast.

Edited Date/Time 12/2/2015 1:49pm
Most of you have heard that Bud Racing's Maxime Desprey and Darian Sanayei will race the 250 West coast championship. What you may not know is that the current French 250 SX champ and points leader Thomas Do will also race the entire West Coast championship. For those who don't know him, he race the Paris - Lille supercross on the 773 Honda.

Do impressed me in Lille - he's got a good style. It'll be interesting to see how he does, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him beat Desprey consistently.

Last time I checked, he lost his leadership to veteran Richier.
Good indication of how badly he's gonna get spanked in the States.

It'll be cool to see Desprey and Do bringing their game to the West Coast.

Maxime had just about everyone covered at Lille.

I know, being realistic is a real nasty habit.

Thomas rang his bell pretty good during practice of last round's Day 1 and still was'nt feeling like himself on Day 2.

So, losing his leadership is mainly an indication of that (+ Richier is no slouch, obviously)...

Do is't going to America claiming or even thinking he will "spank" the locals either !

He is trying to gather support for this new, 7-race experience, and hopes to learn / make progress (he told me today his plan was to give himself three tries in America, so he is not in a rush either).

He is a nice, humble 18y-o kid, who has already won an SX2 French title.

Cayman's comments are just irrelevant.

That said, GuyB's right, Maxime seems to have a better chance to make some kind of impact, he is a more internationally experienced rider and Bud Racing will have a true team set-up for him (and Sanayei).

Wait and see.

He's sure gonna learn...
Wink

Desprey seems much faster to me and I'd still be surprised if he was up to par.
Sorry, sorry, sorry, my very humble apologies to all of you.

Is it Maxime Desprey that has a BSc? I'm a big fan of any rider who commits to their education as well as riding.

Do and Irsuti really surprised me last year in German SX. Fast but too many junior mistakes. They must have learned by now.
