While those are interesting, thankfully there is a reason that they still run the races. If we were looking at the history of Villopoto and Mike Alessi, we would have crowned Mike a multi-time champion and RV as the opportunist who may have snuck a title if something went wrong for MA.

Hopefully this is the sort of thing that can kickstart the confidence of a guy like Elzinga and may be the difference between him getting over the hump to make this a solid, long lasting career.

I just read up on that too and it's pretty cool what Brent is doing. Ask him to shoot me an email: DC@racerxonline.com (or if you're seeing this, Brent).

And Biondo, you too!

See you guys at the races.

Brent, do you guys want to do a piston before the national? Maybe some of us guys here at vital can pitch in and cover the costs.. to get a bit more reliability out of a fresh piston for the race?

You guys are awesome. Thank you.
After watching Rick ride at lake Elsinore , the owner of AEO is taking care of us in the motor department.
And, I spoke to my Amex card, and Rick is for sure racing Hangtown next week also.

You are a badass. Next week ill see you at the practice track and definitely donate.. ive been out with a shoulder injury.. actually gonna test it tonight at Perris and see how it feels..

The AEO guys are legit Racers.. I love how they are Racers before shop owners almost it seems. I wonder if that means you are gonna get the rocketship motor that Masterpool is running...

I am so stoked to see this all line up for you and Rick... This is a hell of a story that you will remember forever and tell to your grandkids for the next 30years. Badass Story.

If nothing else this is really cool to see some kid that just wants to race travel halfway across the world for a chance to race and prove himself. I have mad respect for that and for what Brent has done.

Asked Brent if he wanted me to set one up, but he doesn't want charity and is financial capable to pay it. But (speaking for myself) a lot of us just wanna do something to say: "Thanks for helping Elzinga, and for showing that there is still hope for humanity if people like Brent exist!'

C'mon Brent, TAKE OUR MONEY please: it is not charity...some of us would love to kick in some cash just to say that we supported a kickass effort that YOU made possible, we just wanna have your back in a tangible way. Don't make me come to your pit with a bag 'o cash.

Every passing minute this thread gets more and more cool. 👍

I do share the same sentiment with others that i would like to contribute few buckaridoos to be part of this at least symbolically but i understand Brents way of doing things on his own wallet. Cool

Don't want to hijack this thread, but keep an eye out for another international interest, #337, Slade Smith from South Africa. He arrived is the US three weeks ago, fresh from a wrist injury. He has slowly been riding himself back into shape. He managed to qualify last week, but the bike broke on the sighting lap, so DNS.

Hey man always keen on privateers story’s?! Does he have anywhere we can follow him?!

I would love to turn back time and be a battler living in my van racing dirt bikes. What a life!!

Let me tell you, after doing this from the ground up I have so much appreciation and respect for privateers that race in this sport.

We have worked every day non- stop from 7 am to 10 pm for weeks to get this little team to a level I think we need to be at to compete- the hours of testing, set up, tear down, endless hours of driving - and oh my god the costs!!!

$200.00 for a can of pro 6 race fuel for one day, endless Dunlop Mx 33s, bib mousses, plastic for the bike, ECU’s , food, gas, spare parts, etc. I really don’t know how the privateer families do it for a whole season- my costs have reached almost 30k and counting for one race!

So, respect goes out to all the privateer racers and their families who keep going on talent and hope and their credit cards, it is tough out there for them…
