This was my favorite year of gear when racing as a teenager. Oh how I would snap that up so fast if Fox made it available!
I have a NOS set! Large jersey and size 32 pants.

I know Caleb too, I actually met quite a few SA riders, I know the Mlimi brothers good, Tristan Purdon, the Durows a bit and a few others when I went to Zone7 Regional and National in 2019 to help the Orland Brothers, you might have heard of them. They are fast kids from Uganda, they come race in SA sometimes and go to USA too.

Are you Sa born?
No I’m born and raised in France originally, living in SoCal now. I guess dirtbikes took me places.
Those 5 weeks I spent in Uganda and the 2 weeks in SA in 2019 was really cool, one of the nicest experiences I had.
I’m buddy with Charl Van Eeden too from SA, he was in California for a while too but since covid he got back home and stopped racing. He is working on his dad’s farm now, not too far from Durban. He owns Teza, it’s on his farm.

Damn, that's hot. I'm going off the live timing. Currently says 79F/26C with 54% humidity.

Live timing is still from early 450B 1 qualifying though.

I've known them all for a long time. Just dont share a hotel room with Josh Mlimi and Aviv Orland. They crank the heater up in their hotel room so high one starts to sweat. I refuse to room with any of them.

Tristan is awesome. Id like to see him do two seasons in the states. Personally I thi k he has peaked here and needs to get to the states.
Hahah I don’t think I ever shared room with Josh but I think I had with Aviv!
I know them really good! I spent those 7 weeks with the Orland family. Aviv is actually going back to California soon. But mostly for his pilot stuff, he is gonna ride but not race I’m sure. Stav should be the one that race here, he is really good!
Yeah I agree that Tristan should give it a shot here but I doubt that he can afford it? It’s so expensive! Otherwise he would have went I guess, he came a couple times to race A class but that’s it. First time I saw Tristan was at Lommel GP in 2015 or 2016 when he came to race EMX250.

Idk if you know Freddy? He is the main mechanic for the team, he is Quebecois, really good guy!

I've never actually met either of them. It's pretty amazing what Julien has accomplished with what little he has to work with. It's not like he was a known rider starting with a bunch of industry connections or some trust fund baby playing with Dad's money.

I always root for his guys. I think the switch to GasGas will be good.
Oh yes I don’t even think he really had connections to start with.
I know covid impacted Julien’s job, he trains salesmen of car/farming equipment/ truck dealerships around Canada and he does that in France too a bit. He couldn’t travel there really so I’m sure it did lowered his income.

I think so too! Hopefully he can get a bit more support with Gasgas, I know it’s just through a dealership in Utah so far, it’s called Edge.

Who's that guy from Zambia on B qualifying?

Bradley Lionnet is originally from South Africa. Moved to the US a few years back I believe.

Boomslang might know more about him.
Well I think something happened during 2nd time qualifying because he didn’t do a decent time at all, qualified 41st then DNS the LCQ.

I know Charl very well. We shared driving duties from Washougal back east. What a laugh that trip was. Getting the motorhome
stuck in a deadend with a Merc sprinter hooked up behind us... long story.

Ask Charl about the time the hairdresser cut his fringe off by mistake...Charl was pissed and was ready to fight...hahaha

I’m surprised we actually never met! Those are some great memories I’m sure!
With Charl you’re often getting into trouble! Hahah
I’ll ask him about that story! Charl trying to fight someone doesn’t seem too unusual. 😂
