Anyone have a pair?

I need to get new pair of boots & was just wondering how do they fit.

Do they run true to shoe size or do I need to go up one size, As I have a wide foot at the balls of my feet?

How are they lasting, I heard that they had some problems in the earlier version (Pre 20016) Have these been fixed?

Do they need to be broken in?

I'm still going to replace the sole on my SG12, but it's nice to have a 2nd pair of boots.

BTW: I know that Sidi's are great boots, But they won't fit my fat foot too narrow So need to comment about them Please! I also read some of the old posts here about the Instincts. But I know the Boots have been updated.

Thanks!

I really liked them. I would get like 2 pair a year because they get soft pretty fast if you ride a lot. They never wore out, just get soft.

No break in time. Best boot out of the box.

I went up a 1/2 size because felt they ran small and I have a wide foot as well.

Sizing for me ran the same as my running shoes. As far as width, they are not as wide as my SG12's. I like the boots. I would buy another pair but would never pay retail. Not worth $599.

Mine felt very comfortable right from the start. No break in needed. Foot/toe area isn't too thin nor too wide for my foot, just right. Overall build seems to be of very good quality. And compared to cheaper boots my ankles feel much more secure, yet still can move as needed. Only had them a couple months so can't comment on durability but they currently show no signs of wear or getting soft. And they are great looking to top it off. I paid $450 for mine and I think they were well worth it. Great boots IMO. They do run a little small. I typically am a size 10 but needed an 11 for these boots.

The newest versions fit pretty true to size. Do yourself a favor and look at the instinct off-road version. Best boot available imo.

Absolutely love mine! Like many have said, no break in time, comfortable and ready to ride right from the get go. I had a pair of the first gens, which didn't last long as the hinge broke, and they were 100% warrantied for a pair of the new ones. I currently have two sets of the new gens with no complaints. I wear a size 9.5 shoe and wear a 10 Instinct. They do tend to get soft after many hours of riding, I probably have 100-120 hours on my one pair and the soles are like new still, but they do feel soft which isn't too big of a deal.

I have Sidis, SG12s, and Instincts. The Instincts are the best out of all of them. Top 5 on the all time gear list, no joke. Only complaint is the soles wear a lil faster then I would like but it dont matter because the have a lifetime warranty...

Fit and finish on them are real nice; they do run a touch small though. I wear a 13 as it is, so I'm fine cramming my feet in there for a few motos. I have Astars tech 7s for desert days and those things are like slippers. You should be able to find them heavily discounted; I've used eBay (buy now) and saved $200 off MSRP without much digging.

I had the first gen Instincts.

Probably the most comfortable of all high end boots but that comes with a negative too. The ankle protection isn't the best, especially since they get soft just like Carlino mentioned.

I love them and I've had many prs of them. They've definitely messed with the sizing over the yrs because I've gone from 11's to 12s and now I'm back wearing 11s which is my shoe size so I'd say they're very close to your shoe now. They're the lightest most comfortable boot I've ever used. I take them right out of the box and race in them and you definitely can't do that with any other boot. I've got 6 prs right now. One is out being resoled. I know I know I've got a problem :-)

IMO, the soles are too soft, they folded back and dislocated 2 toes when I slipped off the peg rearwards a bit. Maybe the off-road soles are stiffer...
