Sizing was about right, but the one I had (a V3 pro or something like that) , was a POS. Terrible quality...

Paul, I had a V2 Fox (pre the V3) from a couple of years ago and felt that it fit a bit large for the stated size. But like a lot of helmets, fit sometimes is as much a shape issue as a size issue, and at least that Fox helmet seemed to be tight in some spots and loose in others. It vented really well.

I ended up going to an Arai VX once I tried one on simply because the overall fit was much better for my head. Much more snug overall and much, much more comfortable. I don't think there's any substitute for trying them on because how they feel will probably vary.

don't be cheap. buy an Arai or Shoei. Shoei is on the top of the game imo

Thanks everyone and keep the info. coming. It's kind of hard to find a wide selection of helmets around here so I've been looking on the net. I'm I'm a little hesitant about buying a helmet without trying it on first though.

I've knocked myself out while wearing Shoei, Bell, One, and Fox ...I've not had my Arai long enough to give it the knock me silly test yet.

I liked my Fox V3, it fit nice on my noggin and looked good and nothing fell apart on it. I'd give it a thumbs up.

Do not order a helmet you have not tried on. Fit is THE most important aspect of a helmet. I've tried on many and the shell shapes change from model to model within a mfr's own line. So unless you've tried on one at a shop then order the same product online it's just not worth running a "close enough" lid.

Go to your local MX store or whatever, and try on a few different brands of helmets that you preferably like. The most comfortable/lightweight one is what your looking for.

I have a V3... Its a very nice fitting helmet... But I have a weirdly shaped head....

I tried the TLD helmets and the Thor helmet and all felt like they would pop off my head for some reason, not that they would but it just felt this way...

Its the best helmet I have had to date in terms of fit... The fit is better than my Shoei for my weird ass head....
