If you had to choose a bike to be your race bike or if you were looking for a good platform to make it pro what would you choose. Thanks

For me, same as my winner, YZ250F. Although the KTM
and Husky would be good choices as well.

Are you still considering to do a RMZ build like you wanted to after riding it the first time?

Beginner rider here, age 39. I have been riding a 2011 crf250r the last year. I’m 6’ 2” and around 190. Still learning to jump. But I have been riding MTB most of my life, so I do have some bike handling skills. I occasionally ride short trails also.

Which of these bikes would you recommend as beginner friendly, and are most in tune with my Height/weight? Would another bike better suit me? A 350 maybe or a 450? How about the Honda or Yamaha crossover mx/trail bikes?

A KTM or Husky 350 is fairly ideal for your weight and height, along with wanting a bike that’s great on trails and the track.

Michael,
Thank you for all of the work you and the Vital crew have put into the 250 shootout. Have you guys found the YZ250F to be sag sensitive? Its calling for between 90-100, Ping mentioned that they felt 102-104 was the best to eliminate midstroke harshness. What sag measurement felt the best for you and the guys?

Thank you

Most of our riders were on 102-104. I believe I was 102mm.

Bit of an odd question.. But for me.. you can change power and suspension with $$$$.
But getting a bike to corner and put it where you want is something you cant buy.

For me, After riding the 2018 YZF i struggled with how wide it felt when coming in to a corner up the front of the seat. was almost like a boat between my legs. The new KTM I felt I wasn't able to out it where i wanted when putting it into tighter corners.

I know you are hands down sold on the YZF, but what was your initial thought on getting on bike, that would corner like no other? and also, what bike felt the most narrow?

KTM and Kawi felt the thinnest, best handling was Honda out of the box.

Picked up a new 2019 KTM250SXF a couple of weeks ago. Got to put one ride on it so far due to poor weather here in KY. I have a 2018 YZ250F.
The KTM is super smooth off the bottom but pulls very hard and long. My yz is definitely stronger off bottom. The KTM feels super light however and has a great overall feel to it. The KTM is my wife's new bike but i wanted to put some time on it before i re-spring it.

Honda felt thinnest and easiest to turn from all of the bikes. Honda ergos are spot on. KTM/Husky are also quite narrow, but they are taller and inside lines are toughter on those. Yamaha is still wide and short seat/foot pegs ratio makes it feel odd when sitting down.

Hey Michael, I'm a beginner/novice rider, I'm 17 years old and weigh about 155lb, and I was wondering what bike would be best for me as I'm looking to get a new bike here in a few weeks? Right now I own a 2017 FC250 and I love the bike, but I just felt like the bike doesn't quite fit my skill level.
