I am curious as to what format changes everyone expects in Supercross.
Any ideas?
Any ideas?
Expect or want?
I expect expanded steel starting pads. Just a little trim around the edges, nothing crazy.
Not like what I'm after...
Either way not a fan of the format.
The Shop
Class displacement changed from 250/450 and 125/250 to 250/350 and 125/200.
Expect:
Increased amount of sweet fireworks.
Please no joker lane unless it is crazy technical where we see some lead changes caused by mistakes and they do it every lap.
Maybe not all races but a few select ones
Pit Row
Sure hope the joker lane is not included at those Monster Cup format races.
Will there be a million bucks on the line if you sweep all three motos at those rounds? Yeah right!
If they add the Monster Cup format at some of the races I hope they get rid of the Monster Cup event. It's not needed.
I like the MEC format sans the joker lane. Curious if they'll commit to the timed events again or go back to laps like someone mentioned earlier. I thought I remember hearing that they're doing away with the semis again, too. Anyone else hear that?
Oh and nets.
The Monster Cup has not produced great racing besides the year Stewart and Villopoto battled. Whether it's track design combined with the short races or just an off season race. Whoever gets the start tends to win the short Main, and no one really remembers a moto winner.
A lot of these guys that are complaining about the races being boring go to wayyyyy too many races and are jaded. There were amazing races this past season with the timed mains. Good luck topping the excitement of the last 3 races of the season this past year. In both classes.
The format isn't broken. The only change I would make would be to move the 450 Heats to the first races of the night. Then run 250 Heats. 450 Semi. 250 LCQ. 450 LCQ. 250 Main. 450 Main.
