First thing my spouse said while watching the race was that he looked like he was on drugs... The way he was speaking, kind of all over the place, I even saw mention of it on fb that he appeared odd. Did his gf just break up with him? Idk, just doesn’t seem all there. Not talking about his riding or any of that, if not for that mistake he would have went 1-1 thus far. Just wondering if any of you guys had the same observation.

Maybe it’s because he just had his heart rate at 180+ for 20 minutes. I’d like to see what you’d say at that point.

Maybe because he grew up on a farm until 16. And now he is thrown into the so cal spotlight.

I actually thought his interview was quite good. Gave a recap of his race and didn't spit out a full list of sponsors he couldn't thank unlike Justin Cooper

Being the father of two boys ages 18 and 20 I didn't see anything weird with Forkner. Wink

My guess is that you and your girlfriend were the one's that were on drugs.

Really wish the broadcast would cut to commercial immediately after the flag, or go to some highlights, and give the god damn riders a couple minutes to catch their breath, wipe their faces off, put their own hat on, and you know, collect themselves before shoving the mic in their faces.

That’s just the way he is. I remember one of his earlier post-race conferences and it was pretty scattered. He’s also young too tho

I'll probably get smashed for this, but; despite his obvious talent, Forkner is never going to be one of those all time stars that sponsors will fight to sign because he sells product and the fans rave over. He comes across as a spoilt brat.
Hopefully he matures and changes his ways because his potential otherwise is very high.

I had to google spoilt. I thought it was spoiled. See, you even learn stuff in the most idiotic threads too.

Funny, I prefer they do this because they are being 100% raw and honest- and also they don’t thank every aftermarket company that parts unlimited distributes.

He just finished racing and hadn’t had his pixie sticks yet.

Mmmmm... I gotta say, he seems more nervous than he has in the past. He was always so light-hearted in other interviews the last few years. Maybe he's feeling like he has to be the man this year.

Not bad, just different.

He seemed awfully fidgety on the podium . Like he couldn’t stop adjusting his hat over and over again. Maybe that’s his nervous twitch or something

It is just nerves. Sure he has been in the spotlight before, but have any of you tried public speaking? Give him a minute to calm down and I am sure he will be a bit more relaxed and not grabbing his hat so much.

It was probably Will. She didn’t let him dance around that track-cutting incident last week, and he was probably nervous she was going to put the screws to him again for something this week.

I noticed he touches/fixes his hat a million times during an interview. IDK why, but it drives me nuts !

Care to enlighten us on how he “acts” any more spoiled than any other rider? I’m genuinely curious and could use a laugh this morning anyhow. And manufacturers want results. They’ll sign him regardless of what you think. Forkner has tons of fans. One of the most hyped amateurs in the last decade.

Not a bad point. I'm sure Mitch has placed the world on his shoulders. Watching Mitch's face over the last few years where his team has let the title slip at Vegas has been rough. I never like seeing one team dominate for years on end like Mitch's did but he has also made all of the right moves over the years but just gotten the short end of injuries and bad circumstances. He has the riders with the talent to win. It's time for Forkner to win.

Don't have any idea why a young kid with all that hype, and the season he had last year might be a bit nervous on the mic...... Had the pleasure to meet/hang with Austin and his Dad at GH MXGP a few years back. They are a class act all the way. Austin made a point to spend about 15/20 mins hanging with my then 7 year-old son, like they were cousins...a great kid, great Dad. He will be a champ in the not too distant future.

Maybe he just doesn't know what to do with his hands.
