I am so tired of struggling with contacts and not a candidate for vision correcting surgery. Anyone ride with these?

If so, what do you think? Thanks.

unfortunately, i am not a candidate for eye surgery so that is out for me.
to add to the issues, I have Degenerative Vitreous Syndrome (floaters in my vision) in my right eye. it doesn't affect my riding much but mainly my day to day activities. i have some funny stories about ducking for flying objects that weren't actually there.
i too would like to see some alternatives in this thread.
The Shop
I had detached retinas in both eyes, and got them fixed, well, sort of. Lost vision in both eyes, and have permanent floaters, too! Don't you just hate swiping at the bugs in front of your face that just aren't there? Makes you feel like a nutcase!
I, too, can't ride at night because my night vision is horrible!
i was touring a glass fabricator's shop and almost fell on the ground trying to duck out of the way of something falling on my head. my sales rep and the shop manager looked at me like i was on drugs. swatting at the fruit flies flying around my face get's old as well. they told me i'd get used to it but it sure as hell isn't happening. my night vision in my right eye is absolutely horrible.
are they polycarbonate or cr39 ..
"Poly is somewhere around 20-30% lighter than CR-39 and more impact resistant. It has a higher refractive index, but a lower Abbe value, so there's distortion around the periphery the more severe a prescription becomes and the larger the lens is. CR-39 is supposed to be optically superior, but the safety issue makes it a better choice for many people (and all minors, of course), and the thickness/weight are also a pretty major concern for a lot of people too."
I am one who gets distortion out of polycarbonate.cr39 user here.
so find out if option is available.
bought the SCOTT over the glasses goggles and depending on how the stems protruded, cut into the goggle for relief.and would sew my helmet liner pad back, where the stems rubbed.worked great.

I too cannot use contacts... they for some reason dry my eyes out fast and when I blink there is a period of losing all focus. I've tried different brand contacts with the same problem.
Good luck!
PS. You can use your own favorite goggles. With Pro-vue you need to buy their goggle and I didn't like this limitation or the expense.
Pit Row
went home and said F that there is a problem but was ablle to go back to old glasses and could see better.
Few weeks ago my eye sight went to shit. went to Christenbury eye center for a free evaluation. Guess who has 2 cataracts. Good news is there is some new technology where the lens 100% corrects your vision near far and in between. Bad news is insurance does not cover the new lenses..... $5500 out of pocket for just the 2 lenses!
Get L eye done Feb 16th.
20/200..I can see the Big E on the eye chart and that's just because I know its an E
Fortunately contacts work well for me and have no issues while riding.
I do absolutely swear by yellow goggle lenses in the woods...they really do help to sharpen things up.
