Some of you guys may have seen my other thread, but I'm in the market for a new helmet after taking a decent hit to the noggin.
I can't afford something like a shoei or 6d at the moment. I'm thinking I might go with a Fly F2 Carbon, or a Fox v3.
How would you guys compare the safety quality of the Fly F2 and Fox to that of a Shoei, or Arai etc.. Do you think the chances of concussion are the same regardless since they all pass standards? I understand no helmet can prevent a concussion, but is there a significant difference in safety between say a $200 Fly F2 and $500 Shoei?
Thanks!

Always like it when you come hang out with us loonies running the looney bin in here, how is Trey doing, are we going to see him on the podium before the end of the season?
The Shop
If you can afford to ride dirtbikes, you can afford to buy a $300 year-old Shoei, that is my opinion.
I was looking at the Bells, and started asking questions to the dude there, and happened to ask how the shoei's are selling. He looked at me and said "their not, lm trying to move them, find a color you like" BOOM. done deal!

Its mostly for street helmets, although some dual Sport helmets are listed. If you look through the results, you'll find Shoei and Arai test just like anything else. As they should since they use the same technology .
If either were truly "more safe", dont you think we'd have proof? That 6d is worth a look. Its actually different.
I cant help but wonder where the proof is. If I were selling products that cost twice as much, Id for sure have something solid to back up my claims of being "better".
I've had a couple of F2s. The first one gave its life to save my head....
