That being said, ALTA is the future. The best future for our sport IMO
Perhaps there is a conspiracy to blackball anyone who tries it?

Someone like Chad Reed would be perfect ambassador for the bike.
I agree that Alta should have mounted a rider for MEC, and maybe they had that in mind for Josh Hill before he got injured. MEC would have been a perfect test for Alta with each moto being 10 laps. But we'll see DD on it at RBSR.

As far as Electric factory riders, i guess Josh Hill and Darryn Durham would already be Alta factory riders. Albeit only in the RBSR at this point, but not really any other professional events they can compete at this point except maybe MEC.
Seriously, who wouldn't want to see that?
As far as Durham and Hill go, you could argue that they have achieved a higher level then 95% of amateurs coming up could ever hope to, given they've both won supercross races and ridden for factory teams. If Hammaker or any of the young kids coming up in the next 5 years achieve that, then many would call it a success.
Pit Row
The 450s have a transmission, allowing them to attempt to keep their engines closer to the maximum engine rpm where the higher torque occurs. Plus the transmission multiplies that torque as it goes to the rear wheel. The Alta doesn't have a transmission, so it can't change the torque at the rear wheels, except by the fixed gearing.
If the Alta had a transmission, even a 2 speed, it would be extremely powerful, compared to the 450s.
