First SX with newborn

Looking for any tips/tricks with bringing our child to Phoenix SX next weekend. I have been to more sx/mx than I can count so I'm good on the basics. I see the stroller policy, I guess I'm just more curious on the bag policy for a diaper bag. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You’re all good. Bring whatever you need to take care of your baby. Thats what I’ve done. Brought my 2 year old son to practice/qualifying yesterday. Brought all the basics. Snacks, juice, diapers and wipes.

Throw some hearing protection for the little one in there as well. That’s what I did for my daughter when she was 2. Bikes in stadiums are loud af.

Get a sitter or plan on leaving early. It is a long show for a 4 year old.

Leave it at home with a sitter so the people next to you dont listen to a screaming baby lol

Agreed...

On one hand I admire people brave enough to bring a baby with them to these type of events (one baby is easy)..but on the other hand I think- Why bother? Just get a damn babysitter and enjoy yourself..You don't have to bring your baby with you everywhere..Tongue

I am just finally bringing my 16 year old to a supercross race (while mom stays home with the 3 yr old twins..haha)..

I brought my baby to Supercross the first year. Bad idea. It is a long day for a baby. Even sitting in the press box, it sucked. Get a sitter so you can actually enjoy yourself.

Newborn? Sitter or don’t go, my son was all about it at 3yo and excited to go but he will eventually get bored and want to run around. You will spend more time messing with the baby and not enjoy yourself. If you do go, they won’t let you in at the cardinals stadium with a normal bag, it must be a clear bag or they will turn you around.

Dad had me in a napsack for the 1971 Inter Am or Trans USA at Pepperell MX, not sure which one, I wasn't even 2 yrs. old but I have faint memories of the day, rolling hills of green grass, snow fence, bright blue sky, noise and excitement. Good way to get a kid hooked on MX.

I went to mammoth at 6 weeks old, take him to everything or you’ll end up with a squid kid

We’re talking 7 weeks old but as parents it’s really our decision wether to bring her or not. If we didn’t feel she was good enough to take in public for a full day, we wouldn’t take her.

For those that gave actual advice, thank you.

No fucking way would I ever bring a child under age 4 to a sporting event of any kind. They won’t remember it. You won’t enjoy the race as much. The list goes on. Find a sitter for one night.

Eff the naysayers! You already know its going to be a different experience taking a child of just about any age. I say go for it and have fun!

I was just sharing my perspective as I have 3 kids, 6, 4, and 1 year old. Having brought my son when he just turned 3, he was exhausted by the time the heat races started. If you're determined to bring a 7 week old, you will do it. I wish you guys a great time.

Take whatever you need for the little one. They’ll check the bag when you enter but that’s about it. Definitely check into the noise cancelling gear for those tiny ears though.

I took a full blown backpack in when I went last year. They checked my bag and I didn’t have any issues at all.

Id be pissed if i paid hundreds to be there and took off work etc and ended up next to the folks who brought a screaming baby to a damn supercross race lol.

Its not like the outdoors where u can just find somewhere else to sit. Ur seats are ur seats.
