Oh... The shroud plastics on the new 250 looks horrible! The 450 looks way better.

That is ofc my own subjective opinion.

250f retains the spring sff fork and 450f retains showa tac fork. Interesting

Great looking bike, in my opinion. I'm curious as to why they didn't go with the SFF TAC fork on the 250f, though. ML512, any insight?

So as far as I can tell the 17 450F only change from 16 is some triple clamps and new tuning?

Curb weight of 229 pounds is impressive considering a gallon of gas weighs 6 pounds. A full tank of gas in that bike is about 10 pounds.

Was wondering how they got that number.

Trans pacific weight factor. What they weigh in Japan is always lighter than what they weigh on our scales.

It will be covered by graphics nobody will even see it!

Now: make a silencer that people will leave on it.
The designer of the current one reminds me of the song LUMP "she lingered last in line for brains and the one she got was a little rotten and insane"

Wouldn't this be an awesome marketing tool: you will save $900 when you purchase our bikes, because you won't have to buy a pipe!

I'm talking about the actual design of the 250 shroud plastics, not the OEM graphics.

And i have to agree with you when it comes to the stock Kawasaki silencers. They are so incredibly ugly and they have always been. I put on a Yoshimura exhaust immediately when i bought my 2009 and 2010 KXF 250s back in the day.

I think the shrouds look great on the new 250F. Kawi has always had ugly silencers on their four strokes. I cannot argue that but at least they don't have that hideous chrome heat shield on the header anymore.

Please, please, Kawasaki fix the sound issue. There is no reason why you should have to waste money on an aftermarket pipe to quit a bike down. We may switch bikes next year for just this issue. I have a backyard track and have never had an issue but the KX is so loud it annoys me.............

I put an FMF silencer on my '15 KX450 for this very reason (and because I needed a sparky to race my offroad series...but I'd of done it either way).

I hope that before I die, they kill the black and go back to blue for accents.

Ummmmm... I think the 250 and 450 now have the same shrouds... The 2017 250 was updated to match the 2016 450

Seriously, the 250 shrouds look like a bad Kawasaki "modern 2-stroke" Photoshop work? I don't understand how they didn't go with the same plastics as the 450!

I wish the 250/450 were identical with just different engines.

KTM is over 13 pounds lighter stock. That is a BUNCH of weight.

I like the 250 shrouds better, looks slimmer to me. Maybe the design also helps to improve the airflow/heat reduction on the radiators?

229 is curb weight. Which includes full tank of gas. The ktm isn dry weight. I would imagine. Dry weight of both bikes would be similar with small advantage the ktm

The KTM weight is without fuel, I believe the Kawi is listed with fuel.

Man, I've been waiting for this all week! Planning to buy the 250F when they hit the floor. Kinda glad the 250 doesn't have air forks, not really sold on that stuff. Top of the shroud does look kinda weird, but oh well. Maybe the 450 shroud would bolt up though?
