You can check out a bunch of the features and new details now, and we'll have a ride report with video to follow. We also enlisted Scott Champion's help to check out the new bike. (And yes, we checked with the MX Sports guys first to make sure that it was okay for him to be on the track before the National.)

Go to the homepage or check out the photo gallery. There are tons of details about the new bike in there. Highlights? You've seen bad photos of the bodywork, which actually looks pretty cool in person. There's also a new frame up front, and lots of new details.

holy geeze that thing looks like it fell out of an ugly tree, hit every branch, then landed on the ugly road and was run over by a bus load of fat chicks on the way to see the ricky martin.

ugliest bike i've seen since the 99 RM's

I'd buy it if it didn't have the "F" on there. I'm telling you, we're headed in the wrong direction. Hopefully the 450 will be a bigger hit...

yeah... can't quite say what, but something is just awkward about the way it looks. I think it's mostly the shrouds being so horizontal with knife like edges.

Not bad. It'll be interesting to see how the changes actually play out on the track. The engine seems largely unchanged.

I give it an "F". Not because of how it looks, but because it's an F.

As for how it looks, I really don't care. It's a dirtbike, not a woman.

Taste differs, I think it looks to much TTRish. Stolen design from Husky? The Husky looks much better though. But if it's good, we shouldn't care about cosmetics, and with some graphics and rims it will probably look ok!

I hate the sharp pointy end of the shrouds.

I thought the only thing that could have made it worse looking was black rims, thin I saw the white version....

Seriously, I think you guys are going to regret hating this after a while.

When I first saw the Nissan Titan, I hated it. A year later, I bought one.

Truly innovative designs get this reaction a lot, but I think it's cool, and it's going to be popular.

Betting my 01 still weighs less. As much as I dislike the 4 strokes, my 01 model seems to be paying off as one of the best dirtbike investments I've ever made. They just haven't made enough changes to interest me in buying another one since. Can't see any real advantages of the new one over the 01 model, at least not for my slow self. Way to go Yamaha!! Engineering dept. must have really put in some overtime on that one. LOL

Looks great to me, but other than that, I hate 4 strokes.

I like it! The shroud design hopefully eliminates the leg/boot snagging problem of past YZs'.
