I have not purchased a new bike in 14 years. The last bike I bought, all that time ago, is the same bike I've been riding since.
I've been looking at a new bike a lot in the past few months. Yesterday, my wife gave me the go ahead to finally, after 14 years, buy a new bike! Gotta say, so far I love it.
It's amazing reading through the manual and seeing how much has really changed on bikes compared to my 2005 rm125.

Nice and congrats. There is always something special when you get a brand new bike. It's a great feeling for sure. 4 stroke , 2 stroke...... doesn't matter as long as it's what you want and are happy with the decision. 14 years is a long time , so it sounds like you deserved it!

You four stroke buyers need your own tag line. The whole 'spoke with my wallet' was coined as a way to say 'HEY OEMS WE STILL BUY TWO STROKES EVEN THOUGH YOU SAY WE DON'T"

Maybe when you guys buy a new four stroke you can say "Read off the script!" Smile

Congrats on the new steed. Smile

Nice bike, but you really didn't "speak with your wallet" by buying a new foopter..

Thanks for all the love guys! I will keep everyone posted on the first ride, but it probably won't be for another 3 weeks. I'm not the biggest fan of mud lol.
Everyone, I know that the whole "spoke with my wallet..." thing is for two strokes. I just wanted to share my recent purchase, and the happiness it brought me. Any suggestions on what you would want a topic like this named instead?
Does anyone have any suggestions on needed equipment for this bike?
I know I want to buy tachometer, but have never had one. Suggestions on brand? Type? The more cost effective the better.
Thanks ahead of time guys.

Congratulations on the new bike.

I was at my dealer the other day looking at another SxS, when I saw the price on those Kawis. If my son was older he would be riding green. Dealer told me he had 15 in stock. I bought a 06 RM 250 last year and think I won’t be going back to 4T’s for my self. I grew up on 2T’s and love the fact I can rebuild quickly.

I'm confused, I see a 2-stroke in the barn, but you spoke with your wallet and there is a 4-stroke in your truck bed? Are you taking the 4-stroke back because you bought the 2-stroke? Because no one these days is "speaking with their wallet" when they have to shell out almost 10k for a dirt bike. #Financinglife

Check out the price on 2020 KX250F. They are less than 6k. Big rebates from Kawi.

Do your self a favor and get radiator braces before you fall and smash those things up. Ive had two of these bikes now and managed to pancake both bikes. My 17 got smushed the day I got it with 5 min on the bike. Otherwise just ride it, great bikes.
