What do you weigh in riding gear? Got on the scale tonight, haven’t been on a bike a single time this year. 215lbs with neck brace, chest protector, and knee guards. 190 street clothes
Sure would like to be more around 185lbs in gear.

160 naked and 190 ish with everything. I wear Donjoy knee braces instead of guards.

That’s why telling suspension places confuse me asking you weight without gear

So I’ve had suspension shops ask both gear and no gear weights. It should be gear with weight right? Because that’s the weight that will be on the suspension?

85 kg. ,

187 pounds for the Non metric crowd

They probably request without gear as most people don't know their weight with gear. Then just add a predetermined amount.

Gets even more convoluted when you add a hydration pack and tools. Drain a hydration pack and you got a 7-pound difference between starting and ending weight.

I estimate my pack alone at about 15 lbs with water and tools, and the few survival items I keep on me.

I am 170-ish, and probably 200+ with gear. Now I feel like I need to play dress-up just to weigh myself.

I weighed in at 191 pounds this morning naked. Weighed 212 pounds 1.5 months ago.

Been doing Keto and mtb/gym a lot so I can cut down to about 170lbs. I keep telling myself losing weight is a lot cheaper than a carbon fiber mtb.

210 plus whatever the gear weighs. Is there an "Average weight for average gear" ? I've always just given the suspension guys my weight and figured they had some semi generic guesstimate for gear weight ?

Last time I raced 5 years ago I was 335# with gear 320# in street cloths.

160 off bike 180’s on

I was 173 with a broken wrist to start the season. Dropped to 157 once I got back on the bike and back to training. I’m now in hibernation w/ winter here and in the gym trying to get to 165 (of good weight) before spring.

I found a weird joy in fitness this year. From the foods I eat, to the way I work out. It’s become fun and a challenge everyday. I’ve learned a lot and gained a lot more respect for those at the top of their fitness game. It’s not easy to maintain healthy eating habits and a steady workout/training routine.

I started the year at 225 in street, last weight when broke wrist was 211 in street. Want 25 to 30 more gone in spring, hopefully will have to buy all new gear again.

Since the topic is weight, what weights are bikes setup for stock?

I used to get my suspension setup when I rode moto but now Im only off road on a 2019 250xc-w. Is it worth dropping 1k on suspension? I only ride single track

Lol, I'm easily 30lbs heavier than I should be. I hit the ground extra hard with this extra weight lol

I'm 6'3" and between 210-215 lbs as the crow flies..... in gear I've never weighed myself but the general differences posted here should give a good idea of what I weigh with gear on.

I do mostly single track in the PNW. Once I got my suspension revalved and resprung for my weight and riding conditions, it made a world of difference. Especially being 240 pounds. If you don’t want to spend that much money, it’ll still be worth it and save you money just getting springs on both ends for your weight. Race Tech has a spring calculator on their site for reference.
