FYI. Just posting on the sport. Not making any kind of political comment.

Great job by her to get the race going. It's pretty asinine the Iranian government goes as far as not letting women even watch mens sports.

Thats pretty cool. Sad to see a girl can be arrested for riding there
If they can catch her. Bikes go a long way in the eluding category. Wink

Sad that we would stop her from coming here. That is a political statement.

I have been checking out ADVrider forums where people write about their travels on motorcycles.
The threads are really interesting This one in particular is about a young girl on an XT250 from the Netherlands who starts her ride in Malaysia and after many countries ends up riding through Iran where her bike quits running.
Very impressed with her resourcefulness and adventurous spirit.

Cool she still rides. Been a couple of threads about Behnaz around here for several years. Thanks for the update.

Fingers crossed that she can build something out of it! Just having a race for only girls in Iran is a huge step in the right direction.

I'm speaking for myself here, but it's not her that I want to stop coming here. It's the people who embrace the ideology that oppresses her that I want to keep out. Keep that sh*t over there, we don't want it.

I think most people feel the same way. However how do you properly vet those coming over to be sure they do not intend to hurt people here?

That is all the travel ban was supposed to do, give time to set up a better vetting process. Hell the woman from Pakistan that shot up those people with her husband in San Bernadino had on her PUBLIC facebook profile many statements of death to America before she came here. How was that missed?

Stopping current green card and visa holders was a mistake though.

Among a zillion other things, Iran needs more motocross. For you young'uns, Iran hasn't always been the F'n train wreck it is today. Here's a screen-cap of Iranian people during the 1970s. Heck, they were even Smiling. When was the last time you saw a pic of someone in Iran Smiling?????

That's when it was secular, under the Shah, right? Then the Ayatollah showed up on the scene and here we are 35 years later...

Props to the girl for making it happen.

That's like trying to squash only the "bad" free speech. It's either free or its not.

Besides, the ideology has no borders, nor can it be stopped at border crossings.

I don't know, if I was the one signing executive orders, maybe I'd consider supporting a Palestinian state, denouncing the annexation of so called "uninhabited land" and in so doing, take away about 90% of the fuel that keeps the extremist anti-american ideology flame burning.
Boom!

But what do I know? I'm just a squirrel, trying not to get blown up.
