For the second time in a month, lol...
Letting stubbornness stand in the way of them sending their best chance of retaining the Chamberlain Trophy isn't just a disservice those that fund the federation it's robbing the global MX community of the best possible event.
After splitting from the BOS GP team in August, Tixier is not currently supported by a team. It remains to be seen who he will ride for in the United States.

August 8 (10:10)
France have just announced their Motocross of Nations team and, in a surprising turn of events, Marvin Musquin is not on there. Gautier Paulin (MXGP), Dylan Ferrandis (MX2) and Romain Febvre (Open) will travel to RedBud in October to defend the crown.
Romain Febvre currently runs fifth in the FIM Motocross World Championship, thirty-five points from the rider in third, and has not finished higher than third in a moto all season. Gautier Paulin is sixth in the same series, but thirty-three points further behind. Paulin has led the team into action at the last five Motocross of Nations events and, consequently, has been given the number one plate every single time. The digit will also be attached to his FC 450 at RedBud later this year.
No reason for Marvin Musquin, who is currently second in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series and won at RedBud earlier this year, being left off of the squad has been confirmed yet. France have won at the Motocross of Nations the last four years. Stay tuned to MX Vice for more on this story.

"Since the heavy fall of Romain Febvre at the GP of Turkey, the concern is growing in the FFM. For good reasons. It's not yet announced officially but the Yamaha driver would not ride at RedBud. The disaster scenario takes shape in front of Jacques Bolle's frightened eyes. With Febvre injured, Marvin Musquin becomes a replacement for luxury. The telephone conversation between Pascal Finot and the KTM pilot was not over. Not only because of the time difference elsewhere. This is the cold shower for the Federation authorities. It's hard to blame Marvin who, having moved on, is enjoying a well-deserved vacation. But time is running out. The search for a 450 pilot capable of replacing Febvre at the last moment has intensified in recent days. Jordi Tixier and Xavier Boog are contacted without delay.
Worse and worse
According to our "internal" sources, replacing Febvre is not as easy as it seems. There is a small size: Gautier Paulin is not hot to ride with a replacement other than Marvin Musquin. Excluding expatriate French has already refused the interim offer. All this is not good for group consistency dear to Jacques Bolle. In other words, the boat takes water from all sides. To top it off, the president reportedly threatened to cancel the trip to Michigan if no valid solution was found. While our three drivers should only focus on a fifth consecutive victory, the overall mood is at half-mast. As would say an "insider" who wishes to remain anonymous: "if they had selected Marvin instead of Gautier, we would today have the ideal team for France at RedBud: Marvin, Dylan and Gautier. It is not for lack of having said it ..."
results 17 en 29 and 12 and 19 .. lapped in 2 motos and the last one to escape a lap in the other 2 motos
not the results you expect
Second I truly hope they asked Marv and he rejected them, arse holes making stupid decisions and now will suffer at the table of karma.
I would not be surprised if Marv applies for dual citizenship at some point and in a strange twist of irony ends up replacing USA down the line, possible?
