OT
I think he'd be a contender for sure, look at the MXGP at Glen Helen, he won and while I know there weren't any top US riders he beat Grant on his best track.
He raced usgp at glen Helen
And racing it again this year and NC

While I'm as much of MX fan as anybody, SX is the only model that remotely has a chance of succeeding financially for all the players.
The current top 3 (Gajser, Febvre, Cairoli) could be podium contenders or top 5 on their first season I think. Maybe 1 moto win here and there with good starts, but previous experiences has shown that it take time to adapt to both series. The current top 3 in the Nationals is special, and the top 5-10 would have a word to say with Musquin, Anderson, CP, Baggett, Tickle, Barcia, etc. Even Roczen & Musquin didn't win straight up, only CP did it and it was in the 250s !
So at least a year top 3-top 5, then who knows ; Tomac can be crazy fast (but can be a so so starter), Dungey is a swiss watch and Roczen's first laps can pull 10 seconds on anyone & showcased his talent multiple times at the MXdN. So even after a couple years to adapt, who knows, maybe the current top 3 in GP could join the battle but on their home soil nothing is sure.
Kawasaki/PC fucked up big time when they lost him to Yamaha.
I quite agree ; I think he may be able to join the battles upfront, even in SX.
I also think Plessinger is the big favorite indoor and out for next year.
Savatgy, AC and Hill should be in the fight too.
