I’ve done half a dozen generic Florida trips in the past coming down from Mass. is there anything more west like Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama that has a good mix of moto and mtb spots? I’m good to go anywhere as long as the days are in the 50’s-60’s. Trying to avoid basic Florida sand tracks

There are probably 20 tracks within 2hrs of CLT.

Also probably 30 within 3 hrs of CLT.

Ranges from pure sand to red clay.

Shoals MX in SC will give all of the above.

That would be very helpful if I knew what CLT was

He's talking Charlotte, NC. There are definitely lots of options around. But, I would say that you are not guaranteed to have mild weather, at least not as much as you would be farther south. We do get plenty of 50+ days throughout the winter, but also stretches of rainy and cold. Right now it's pretty chilly and most places are swamped out. Sand tracks are always a good bet when it has been wet though, like Club MX.

Not sure you can find guaranteed 50+* days north of Florida.
That said, monster mountain is awesome and Anniston alabama has some fantastic mtn bike trails. Bombdog is my favorite.
Head east to highland park, and do some moto and single track. Out in canton is the blankets creek trails. Stupid popular although personally I don't understand why. With covid im not sure its an option but berry college in Rome also has some great trails.

At the Shoals today. Was told there are mtb trails close, but we didn't bring the bikes.

The Gtr complex in Gaston , SC is dope. They have many tracks and woods loops. You could spend 2 days there easily.

Rode there on Thursday.

The sand track was fun and 75% prepped and I had a blast.

The clay track (which is more like firm red sand) was all rain rutted out. Not that it matters as that track has a rather short laptime and is more like a vet track IMO.

I'd strongly recommend Paradise MX in Fairfiax, SC. It's new and the folks running it do an amazing job w/prep and take real pride in the track.

Shoals has about 6 tracks, or so. 30ish hook ups, and some of the nicest people ever. Full time trainer, an gncc and mx pros there all the time.
