Ok so there’s a really good (but sad) thread on the tragedy of Bruce Bunch, Rick Hemme and Kyle Fleming in Old School Moto. Unfortunately a lot of photos aren’t available to view i think due to photobucket.
Hopefully this thread gets some of those photos back and others from around the world we haven’t seen

Probably the most iconic mini bike photo from my childhood. I wanted one of these bikes so bad when I was 11.

Late 70’s to late 80’s was a great era. So hard to chose a favourite

Running the #1 plate at a local race in South Texas after winning the '74 NMA title. Rode for Honda of McAllen. Was awesome to be on the team with Steve Wise and have Steve working with me while I was on mini bikes and Steve was on his way to becoming a factory rider.

Eddie Hicks on a DMC YZ80. I wanted a pair of those yellow O'Neal boots in the worst possible way.

That bike is absolute art. Saw it for the first time at Ponca in 84. A week later it was used at Lorettas, and then never raced again. It now lives in Troy Lees shop in Carina on display, completely restored.

A few of mine

1985: The very beginning. I didn't even have boots yet...

1989: 12U French Champion

1990: 12-14: French Champion

1989: I started racing 80s at then end of 1988 on a '89 RM80. Everything broke on that bike. Gear box, frame, clutch etc... My dad sold them and we bought Kawis. I bought bikes then haha

Early 1989 on JMB's private track. JMB was starting to ride again after a wrist injury. That's a saturday or sunday in March. On the right, it's Sorby.

Nice seeing pics of all the bikes I had as a kid. However, the 82 YZ60 you’re sitting on was a color we couldn’t get here! Thanks for the flashback, Really enjoyed watching your professional career from afar..... Thanks again for the memorable motos ?

This is a good thread to keep going! Bruce Bunch was a badass on an RM80! I'd love to see any pics of that dude.

Can't have a mini bike thread without Swinkster...

I don't remember seeing any pictures of him riding it, but Ezra Lusk's DMC KX60 was one of the baddest minis ever built...

No, that’s a young RV with a very nice holeshot on Mr. Alessi. Number 1 CR 80 in the pic is Alessi, this is Lorettas 02 I believe.

After a small amount of research in the vault, i think this would be from '02, and i'm pretty sure #15 is a young Justin Sipes.

Wow, the names from the 85 class in 2002, SERIOUS talent.

Call me biased, but as a young kid drooling over the pages of Minicycle Action magazine, the JWRP Mini Elsinores were the trickest bikes ever. Hand built 4130 frames by C&J and a donor sleeved down CR125 M required along with an XR75 tank and seat, smaller rims (17 front, 16 rear) to be mini class legal. $2000.00 back when a YZ80 was still under $500.00. One of those things I dreamed about and one of those things I never forgot about. Fast forward 30 years and I went on the hunt that would have me ending up with over a half dozen of them. Funny stuff, you look for one for so long that you uncover a bunch of leads that have them coming out of the woodwork.

The original. When Jeff's XR75 started getting beat by the 2 strokes, his dad stepped it up

FMF took it over

CH Racing got into the game

PK Racing went big and signed Jimmy Holley to race for them.

I found them as bare frame kits in Missouri, complete bikes from the Grismer family that owned Carlsbad Raceway, with ice spikes in New Hampshire, down in New Orleans with a chrome plated swing arm...

Had a friend on the floor of the Astrodome shooting pics on amateur day. Jerry Surber here , laying down the style on a Mini Elsie.

Couple years ago, another Vital member found it in a Craigslist ad somewhere here in Texas.

Digging all the pics! Anyone know who the 16yo sensation they are talking about on this cover is?

That pic of Jimmie Johnson really brings me back. I was probably there that day, racing 125 Novice.
Here are a few of me from a year earlier on my '82 RM80. I didn't even have real boots at first. That's how it was in the '80s, peeps!

That's Ryan Hughes sitting on the starting gate. I think he was in 9-11 80cc Novice at the time. (I was a 12-16 80cc Beginner.)
