Who is your favorite Privateer from this decade?
Mine is Chris Canning!

He now rides for JWTF. He will be contending the amatuer nationals and the last 4 pro Nationals!

Larry Ward, Team Noleen Sizzler 1994 (or was it 93?) (2 decades ago, i know) second in points to MC, and still the highest placing non-factory support rider of all time I think (in premier class points). It was the year the lights went out in Vegas, and Mcgrath didnt race. I don't count Reed, he was on Canards bike for a quarter of the season last year.

I think Ward is one of the only, if not the only guys, to have a factory ride, lose it, then get one back?

I am pretty sure in that article they said it was about fast enough to dislocate your shoulders.

those Noleen bikes were so cool back in the day!

My favorite is any local guy, the support for them is always awesome at their respective nationals. Our locals are:
Matt Babbitt, Mitch Dougherty, Willy Shatrau, Dave Costa, Sunny Drake..

After hearing the story last year of AJ Cantanzaro (spelling?) qualifying for a lites main on stock 250f, that kid has my vote. I am also a fan of the founder of Warthog racing, that guy deserves a medal for the work he has done to help out privateers.

Warthog Racing = has really helped out a lot of the privateers

Tim Ferry when he was with MOTO XXX ! He worked so hard to get back on factory bikes way to many times to not be on the top of the list.

Good topic. Man, thats hard. Gotta be a few. Dowd springs to mind even though has been part time for a few years now. When he was reppin a two stroke after everyone had gone four, that was cool. Robbie Reynard has gotta be real high on the list too.

Bruce Stratton... a TRUE privateer. Earned as low as national #47 I believe.
