I think we are facinated by pipes because they relate to women...

big rack / small behind = 2 stroke cone pipe (pun intended)

small rack / big behind = four stoke pipe

Who likes small racks combined with big behinds?

Why do you think FMF sold so many fatty/shorty combinations. Nice modded rack with a tiny behind!

The four stroke pipe is just a bad combination, plus it farts too loud....

Now if you're gay, you usually ride quads and non of this matters...

Short of the works bike era, I think any professionally-prepped bike is awesome. Honda's factory bikes will always be about as plain-wrap as they get, to look like production bikes, but they're still amazingly trick. James Stewart's bike? It looks awesome up close. Same for Ryan Villopoto's, Chad Reed's Ryan Dungey's, etc.
I have to say I agree with this. Most of the bikes posted do look cool, but there is clearly a lot of nostalgia shining through.

A lot of the current factory bikes are made to look somewhat ugly by the corporate logo's they prominently display . It is great that these companies are supporting racing, but Monster, Rockstar and Geico (to name a few) all have hideous logo's.

If you guys do not think these bikes look sweet, you're straight tripping:

2009 US Factory Honda

2012 22 Factory Honda

2008 GP Factory Suzuki

2013 US Factory Suzuki

2006 US Factory Yamaha

2007 GP Factory Yamaha

2011 GP Factory Kawasaki

2006 US Factory Kawasaki

2012 US Factory KTM

With that said, I have always loved the way the following bikes look:

Sean Hamblin's 2004 Suzuki:

This is Buddy Antunez's 99 RM250. I bought it just the way it was dirty off of the team truck the morning after he won the championship. It was trick & had a great motor & very good suspension.

Wow!!!!! If you don't mind me asking........what did it cost to buy a bike like that right off the truck without them taking anything off it?

This was Andrew Short's Motoworld RM250 race bike. I bought during the 03 SX season after he bruised his tailbone & was unable to race the final rounds. It was a beast & definitely one of my favorite RM250s. I was shipped to me right from the Dallas rd of SX.

My 2004 RM250. I think was either Justin Brayton's or Tommy Hoffmasters Motoworld PPG team bike. It still had the suspension on it & 10 way programmable ignition & ti bolts & lots of other good stuff. It was a great bike & handled tremendous.

Damn, Digger, can you ever get enough of those RM's?...lol. Nice bikes. Always wanted to try a bike that was built for a pro. Heard lots of stories both ways on those things.

Awesome bikes in here. The last few years of two stroke factory Yamahas (~02-05ish) were my favorite of the smokers. I said in a thread the other day, I really miss the clean look of silver rims. Black rims are ubiquitous these days, although I've always thought they look too FMX. Gold has always looked best on Suzukis, and Kawi's and KTM's could go either way I guess (black or silver). But Hondas or Yamahas look much better with silver IMO. Check the gate at an SX these days I doubt you'll find anyone running silver.

I've races RMs pretty much my whole life & really love them & definitely love the look of them. The Motoworld bikes were awesome bikes & my favorites. Bill's Pipes was doing the motors & they were absolute rocketships. RG3 was handling their suspension & would revalve them for me & they handled great. Just great bikes :-)

I think I paid around $4000 for this bike & it was really trick. They did a magiazine test on this bike & I still have the mag somewhere. I remember one of the testers looping it out & wrecking the subframe & bending the silencer straight up. I remember that I had to send the shortened subframe & seat back to CA cuz they wanted back for Buddy & being 6' tall I certainly wanted the standard RM250s subframe & seat... :-)

My first ever full-size dirtbike was a '98 RM125! I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but I have fond memories of it.
