A friend brought this up, and I thought it was nothing but after reviewing some more photos it appears Husqvarna is only using one bolt on each side to hold the lower subframe to the frame.

I'm assuming this is for flex reasons, and not just to save a few ounces. Can anyone confirm?

I could be completely wrong on this but doesn't everyone use 1 bolt per side?

Maybe they forgot one?

Haha, I don't know, but on the website the 2015 450 has 2 bolts in the subframe

it probably changes the flex characteristics of the chassis. I'm sure you're right.

That picture doesn't show it good enough.....but isn't one bolt holding the sub-frame and the other one is for the exhaust?

Both bolts hold the subframe to the frame. The other side has two bolts as well for the lower part of the subframe.

My guess is the bolt that appears to be missing is actually a hex head bolt that is flush. The visible Allen is used to hold the guard on.

You can see the missing bolt holes better here.

That aint nothing, this weekend my yz250 decided to lose both of them miraculously and I ended up riding most of the day with both of my subframe bolts gonePinch

either way that's a pretty trick part. wish we saw more of this kind of thing.

come on designers! we're way behind on the advancement schedule! with KTM and Husqvarna leading the way, can't wait to see the next generation Husqvarna once they've branched out even more.

I know right? LOL

Sheriff, Idk if I would tell a difference, and I'm not sure it would really make a big difference (for me at least). I'll stick with the way it was designed. I do however have a few things that aren't stock Smile Both work extremely well. I'm happy with the link and really happy with the PDHS.

I doubt that removing a bolt on a plastic subframe changes the frames flex much, if any. Bike was probably just thrown together for a photo shoot.

They use (or don't.. ) the 1 bolt all season. MY thoughts are they do it for more flex or maybe lowered the subframe, but it is intentional for sure, otherwise it would be only 1 race or heat.
Lowered subframe is used a lot with the pro's. But if thats the case then the bolt holes would not be in line.. Still a mistery, I would like to know the real reason..!
